Haha realised after 5 mins Edmund was Paris Maghoma. Probably our best player although but sloppy at times. Looks the player with most potential. Reminds me a bit of yaya toure. At times makes it all look very simple. Lloyd- bennet impressed as well. Bowden and binks as well.

I watched the second half - a great match! Very even, our boys were superb against a highly technical team. I was particularly impressed with Lloyd-Bennett, Markanday and Bowden. Pochettino and Tainio were less impressive.

don't know how we lost that, we hit the woodwork four times and had a host of other chances. good performance on the whole though.

Great game we should have scored at least 6. Lloyd Bennett impressed the whole game. Madueke looked good when he came on but Zaha like only 15. As windy says Pochettino looks very average.

What’s the info on noni madueke is he highly regarded. Saw a wonder goal he scored at 14 last year almost beat the entire team. And looked great when came on today.

After some digging I've discovered that former U16s Harvey White, Ryan Penton & Christian Carter have new clubs.

White, a Maidstone boy, has gone to non-league Thee Bridges. Ryan Penton has turned up at non-league Whyteleafe and Carter who always struck me as a decent player has moved closer to home and joined non-league Cambridge City.

Don't know if I mentioned it elsewhere but Dillon Da Silva another from this age group moved on late last year to join an already sizeable former Spurs contingent at QPR. Ryan Gooderson, another from this group has dropped out of football. Henry Fuller, another from this group has opted for rugby over football and now plays for London Irish.

Goalkeeper Bartlomiej Cichowlas is a bit of a blank. Timi Sobowale, who we all thought we'd signed, appeared to have gone to Man City but I can find no evidence that he's played for them at any level in the last six months.

Dequan Wilson-Braithwaite is another player I've drawn a blank on. Pretty sure he left us a few months back but no idea where he is now.

@IGSpur , any idea whether Dearman is on the cusp of getting a deal?

Obviously the tournament has answered some of these questions, but I was going to say White is likely to stay as he was still captaining this age group when they recently played Cambridge and I still see him play u16s at the training ground.

I think Desilva got picked up recently. Sobowale has left.

I was told DWB was released at u14, he was at Barnet for a bit then apparently suffered quite a serious injury. Not sure where he is at currently.

I believe Joe Dearman is at Cambridge United

Haven't seen any of Tainio. Will watch the game back, but from what I have heard, and additionally seen of Poch, I reckon their Dad's have had an involvement in getting into this age group. It can't be a coincidence plus they barely play anyway. It's sad if that is the case

Yes he is highly regarded. Very good dribbler and quick feet, and good passer. Highly rated among England circles too. Should start in England's strongest XI in his age group

They still had the "ownership" of Sancho and - if one is to believe ITK - ManC made it hard for him to sign for a EPL club.
My understanding of teh original point was you suggested we should sign Foden Someone replied and said CIty wouldn't sell Foden, and you said they sold Sancho.

We know City had owndership, the fact was he wasn' turning up to training and wasn't signing a deal. They couldn't keep him against his will, so rather than let him join us, they got a fee and released him to join Dortmund. There is no way we would get Foden from them, unless he decided to run down his current contract which has about 3 years on it

As has been said the priority of the youth teams isn't results but the development of the players.
I find though, that there are certain competition we take more seriously than others and I think FAYC is one of them. We don't do the passing out from back stuff as much there. But of course you're right generally

I'm sorry if the word agenda bothers you but it bothers me when people twist our managers words to fit their 'opinion'. I've seen a number of people in this thread saying "oh well is sissoko an 8/10? hehe got you there poch" when everyone can clearly see that's not what he meant.
Only speaking for myself, I think it's hard to say people are intentionally twisting his words. Right or wrong, I literally thought he meant, at the level we are currently at we only need players who are 8/10s. If he did mean that then I think it is fair to say he clearly doesn't hold the same standard for signings, and also he is basically saying it is impossible to get in.

If you do think he means an 8/10 as an academy player, well these players are World Cup winners the highest rated players in England and the World. If Edwards isn't considered an 8/10 academy player then that is barmy. Onomah similarly. A player who is the guaranteed starting CM in his age group from 17 to 20 who has won an u17 Euro and u20 World Cup would suggest he is at least that. Again no one is asking for players any lower than an 8 to get a chance. These players are at least 6 and likely to be 7/10 first teamers now, if given the chance

Yep I agree he's made some mistakes but to say "he's continually not walked his talk" is just wrong. You can say his level of youth intergration hasn't backed up his reputation but you can't say he's terrible at it, there's a middle ground which people never seem able to find.
If is integration hasn't backed up his reputation, then he hasn't walked the talk, or at least the talk provided by the fans, and seemingly reinforced by himself. But tbh that is all that anyone has argued, while people have constantly just said trust him he knows what he is doing he is great at it, at least people are starting to recognise what actually is happening is at odds with what we're lead to believe.

People have been criticising Chelsea and City with no consideration for their situation or the fact they have been winning titles. Have said that all they do is buy players, and have no intention of developing their own academy players and they're players are as good/better than ours. But no one makes the excuse they are regularly challenging for the title. Suddenly we finish in the top 4 twice or are in a similar position to them, and the fans now find a way to justify us not using our academy and want us spending money. I believe City and Chelsea can do more, like us, but it appears Spurs fans only believe those clubs are doing poorly when using their academy but can find a reason why it's acceptable we aren't. When City were worse they used their academy more more, when Poch was at a weaker club like Southampton and Espanyol so did he but my point is always, if they can be criticised so can he

Notable absentees from this tournament are Kane Patterson, Alexander Monroe, Josh Gray, Chay Cooper and Troy Parrott.

Hey @IGSpur any idea if, when Raff Pedder and Blake D'Arcy were relased and where they are now?

Yup done some reading up. Surprised there isn’t more of a buzz about madueke on here unless I missed it. Still only 15 I guess. But was obvious in 10 mins today that he has something about him. Two lovely dribbles that nearly created a goal. I’d imagine he will start tomorrow with the quick turn around.

Let me know if you find somewhere to watch them back as I'd love to watch the first half. I'm not going to able to watch too much of tomorrow's match either.

What about Walcott the CB? Thought he was highly rated?
