VVD might not solve all of Liverpool’s defensive problems, but you can’t overstate the benefits in a proactive philosophy type approach of having a CB that can play football as well as he can, in some game scenarios it’s like having an extra player on the pitch, and VVD is one of the best footballing cb’s in the PL.

It’s why Vertonghen is such an asset.

Transaction complete... I don't know what more they were expecting.

They will just prioritize the league after this loss. Same as Leicester did when they won the league.. Except the bin dippers wont win it obviously.

Well that result perked me up a bit.

I'm not too sure Klopp will be at Liverpool next season. They've spent lots of time and money getting themselves back to where they were under Brenton. They're better going forward but a lot worse at the back. Seemingly no real progress.

My son and his best friend share a birthday and we had a joint party. The other kid is a Liverpool supporter and its his only flaw.

So whilst our game was on and we were down 1-0 the kids dad with another family of Liverpool supporters says.. Spurs remind me so much of Arsenal....I ask why? The Liverpool supporting Dad says, Spurs start strongly and just fizzle out from February onwards.. We just dont have staying power...
I then pointed out our performances in the last 3 seasons and how we accumulated more points in the second half of the season.

It got me thinking how opposing fans formulate weird assumptions of other teams. He was actually describing his own team and didnt know it. I was kind enough not show him the irony of his statement.

You could have told him that Liverpool beat us at Anfield in February last year but after that we won 12 out of the 13 remaining games.

Losing only to West Ham. 36 points out of a possible 39
