If we announce Malcom to come in the summer, or Lucas with an option to keep, I expect this to happen, to be honest.
Because heaven forbid we have more than two creative players in the squad at any one time... Not knocking your opinion, sadly it does seem typical us.

Can’t think of a player I would rather chill with and just be with honestly. Seems such a mellow character with a kind heart, but when he gets on the pitch he gets this fire in him. He flys around and he is out for blood. I think he was unfortunate last year because at the beginning of the season he was clearly in a great mental space and the team believed in him. Then injury, brother and a long, long layoff. Poor kid, but I do agree that sometimes a change is best for both parties. Although I still think he hasn’t been given the chance to play enough centrally where his skill set can shine.

I will be extremely disappointed if we sell him, after the years he has had here

I'm really not sure I understand the outflow of grief over him potentially leaving.

He's been good for us at times and had one very good season but his time at Spurs has been more failure than success.

Yes that's largely not his fault and for that I think all parties have been very unlucky.

But I don't think any of the current top 4 would be particularly interested in signing him if he was available and if that's the level we're striving for then I wonder if Lamela should be moved on.

It all really depends on whether he can get back to his best in the next few months. If he continues on his current trajectory then I suspect he'll be off but there is still time for him to get back to that level.

Basically been injured for two of his seasons here. Two years left of his contract in the summer.

It's stick or twist time.

Never seen a more 1 footed player. Refuses to use his right which is a major flaw. Especially for someone so skill full. Personally I won’t be sad to see him go.

Sissoko should be ahead out of the door before we consider about Lamela leaving.

He’s been out a long time and I hope we give him until the summer to see if he will get back to his best as he still young enough.

Ever watch Maradona?
Yep of course I have - stupid question tbh. He used both feet when needed - check both goals against England at that WC for example. Hoddle was left footed but used both. Lamela refuses to use his right. Can’t remember which of his last couple of appearances but he had a clear tap in with his right but went back onto his left and cocked it up. Obviously those that sit around me (on the shelf) know nothing also, because at times he is actually laughed at. Undoubted skills But flawed also.

Really? I take it you've never been in the Lamela thread then?

I think if he's sold, as a mod you may have to get involved in helping organise a national SC day of mourning.

And Hagi, Stoichkov and Roberto Carlos
I don’t doubt for a moment that these players, and others, are predominantly left or right footed. That is not the point I was making. Predominantly is the word, whereas Lamela is almost singularly one footed, to the point where he will counter all the great stuff he’s done by refusing to do something simple with his right. He’s sometimes like a corkscrew and goes round and round. Surprised he doesn’t fall over as I’m amazed he even uses his right to stand on.

I doubt he wants to leave at all.

So comes down to Poch wanting to keep him , I don't see How you'd keep sissoko, or GKN ahead of him really. But maybe they sorry for his injury record.

I reckon Sissoko is very reliable when it comes to training etc - a workhorse. It will also help that Poch will feel he can cover 3 positions (either of the midfield 2, and right midfield in the attacking 3). I think in the summer it may come down to Sissoko or Dembele going; very different scenarios. Dembele will never be able to start 2 games in a week and remains our most substituted player, so he would be kept as a use-sparingly luxury item. Sissoko is very durable but lacks real quality, so he would be kept as a utility man.

What do you expect? Some blokes who sit near you at games laugh at him and that's supposed to back up your argument? Come on ..
I was answering a more specific point and you choose to pick out the light hearted quip within it. Sorry, I forget - I must be incorrect as tiger says so! :ROFLMAO:
