Sissoko one of Spurs most important players, says Pochettino

It's a game attempt by Poch to talk him up, and he is talking about one of our players exactly as he should.

And while there is plenty of merit in the idea that Sissoko can run and has stamina - useful for transitions from attack to defense - he is a hopeless footballer.

It's not his first touch alone that's the problem, it's that he plays like a guy who has to rotate himself around the ball rather than maneuver the ball in order to line up a pass or shot.

And I'll admit to being glad we snatched him from under the noses of Everton at the time :sorry:
Strange thought it may seem, it appears that Pochettino doesn't agree with you and he's the one entrusted to manage the club.

Perhaps MoPo can take him to Real Madrid when he leaves.
Will you jump in The Thames with a 50kg lead weight when he does? Sounds a good deal to me, but I'd be upset that Poch had gone. And if he does go, quite a number of our players will leave with him, including Kane. Just tuck into the humble pie and listen to Poch.

Love Sissoko. LOVE him. Just a shame he is attempting to be a footballer, that's all.

"Sometimes you think a way about someone because of first impressions and then they stick forever."
Gaffer being wrong here. Sissoko re-impresses himself on me every time he plays.
I've always that it's a tragic waste of talent that you don't have a gig at the Comedy Club.

Love Poch but what on earth is he going on about here?

Transitions?

The main thing Sissoko transitions is promising positions into throw-ins.
I'm going to take a wild guess here, but maybe he's being a manager and a top class bloke to boot. You know, the things that the likes of Sherwood and his mates in the media couldn't ever hope to be.

He's important because he cost 30m and we didn't buy someone better. He's got some strength, pace, and the odd pass that now it seems we're being made to believe is good when he pulls it off because you usually doubt that he will.

First impressions are a bit of a myth as well.

Goes to show that stats don't tell the whole story.
Well, they never do unless you have all the data in a proper regression model. But hey, what the hell, that's the way the cookie crumbles. Or biscuits, as we say in the UK, and some people don't find Poch's support very digestive.

This has to be some kind of clever strategy Play from Poch here, cause he’s intelligent enough to see that the guy is not a high end footballer, surely!

I've just been looking at a comparison of stats this season between him Dier and Dembele and actually, the stats are not all that different

Don't expect anyone to do anything radical like paying any attention to that - easier to just blindly hate him and rant on about him.

I find it really difficult to understand why he attracts so much hatred? Why do we have to have a scapegoat? Who will it be when he leaves?

He's a much better player than most on here give him credit for. Has he got the same kind of skills as Eriksen and Alli? No. Has he got other skills and abilities that bring something different to the team? Yes. I don't see why people can't watch him play and judge that objectively, rather that just blindly screaming "he's shit" and blaming the whole team's poor performance on him.

I imagine the next scapegoat will be whoever people deem to be our weakest link. This varies from person to person.
