We are really struggling with the conditions. Very poor start getting outmuscled in the air and on the deck.

We took some measure of control in the middle part of the half when Sissoko took over and got us further up the pitch - which was handy because our back 5 and Dembele and Wanyama haven't been able to beat an opponent all night. Sissoko by a mile our best player and only one looking to take the fight to Newport - yet the usual numpties say the usual numpty things.

We look awful when we play a rightfooted left back.

Kane and Llorente don't work - might do if we ever got crosses into the box but KWP can't/won't cross and Tripps hasn't even got the ball in space once.

Newport look great.

KWP has been very bad but once again Poch plays him in the wrong position. Why doesn’t he play Trippier there but plays KWP? Yes I know that he’s played as a a LB/LWB before but he’s much better on the right side

Credit to our back five and three defensive midfielders for keeping the score to a respectable 1-0 in the first half. We came here expecting a thrashing but we’re keeping it respectable so far.

Pochettino post-match interview: "I'm proud of the players. We were brave and played with heart. But that's football."

We are working 50% less than usual. No pressing, no movement, no desire. I've wanted to see Kane and Llorente in tandem, but if this is what the two of them bring then I don't want to see it again. No work rate or movement and both incapable of holding the ball up and bringing others into the game. KWP looks like a little boy who cannot control a ball. Our back three look like lambs on ice. Wanyama and Sissoko don't want the ball and when they do have it they have no composure. The only player who looks at all like he is interested is Dembele. Neither Trippier or KWP are offering anything going forwards and both are a liability defending as they are physically weaker than their opponents and are losing individual battles. This all boils down to desire. I want to see Dier getting muddy and angry. I want to see Wanyama charging around the pitch knocking people over. I want to see Llorente and Kane bully their CBs. I want to see Poch give a shit and change this crap team he's put out.

Poch again has fucked up with that team, where are the assists in that team?

They have all been shocking that first half and should be embarrassed, if it was not for Vorm this could be over already, another lesson learnt by Poch after Wycombe last year.....!

We go out today and miss out top 4, then the summer is gonna be massive.

Big 2nd half needed but we know Poch is not good at changing games so I'm not holding out much hope

We lose this, well, will be worst result in a generation
Can't think of a worse one.... these players will be tainted for life

I know we aren't the most attractive side to watch, well this season atleast, but damn, I expected us to be able to string a couple of passes together against Newport! They really deserve the lead, we have been beyond shit. We miss Winks imo.

We used to have too many flair players and they were so fucking soft.

Now we are so physical, but there are no flair players to receive the balls to play into spaces. Every fucking one is so scared shit of passing forward or making those key passes.

Have you watched Wanyama this season?

Erm you do realise he is just bsck from injury right? He is far better than dier overall. Dier is very very poor as a cb and not much better in cm. Im not talking just today but for a while now. Id sell him quite happily.

No options for the man on the ball.not a creative player on the pitch but what pisses me off most about poch is his blindness to playing players out of position.midfield is utter shite, cant get hold of the ball to get high enough up the pitch and then on the rare chance we do we have a left footer to whip crosses in from the right.these kids barely get a game all season then when they do poch sticks them out of position

Another in a long succession of managers at Spurs who will not accept that 99% of full backs in football history cant play on the wrong side.

Poor kid is getting roasted.

Wanyama is not fit. Whats he doing there?

Sissoko cant control a ball at Wembley. What chance as he got?

Llorente has been on a strict paella diet. Fat fk is a disgrace.
100% spot on KWP is not a LB and certainly not a LWB. He’s being torn a new one.

There is no creativity in that midfield 3 llorente and Kane have barely had the ball.

This happens in football cup games, it’s the biggest game of their lives the crowd and team are so up for it they’re using all the tricks in the book long throws Long balls time wasting hassling is a lot, all the dirty parts of the game to get an advantage but actually they’re play much better football than us fair fucking play to them. Wycombe should’ve taught us a lesson last year.

The line up doesn’t make sense but mostly we’ve just not been up for it, at this level you have LESS time on the ball that at the higher level, we need to respect that and play quicker as we should in theory have more quality on the ball.

We need a fairly early goal to settle us down as they could easily score again and then I think it’s actually game over as they’ll time waste to fuck and it’s be so so hard to get 2 back.

Next goal is crucial and then hopefully we settle down and they tire, if not then this could be one of the worst results in the clubs history. BIG half of football to come.

Mourhino played Sanchez and Mata last night in a very similar match up. Whilst Poch has picked a team more bothered about the other team's strengths rather then our own.

Shame he has decided to use this strategy away at Newport instead of Anfield every sodding season.

I don't see why we need to fight fire with fire against a league 2 team. A midfield 3 that can't create anything on a good pitch let alone a mud patch. Poch has dropped a clanger here and needs Son and Alli to pull us out of the shit.
