That doesn't mean he or anyone else can't criticise him. I doubt that Sissoko trawls internet forums looking for praise. Booing him or throwing abuse at him during a match is a different thing because that's not helpful at all.

Did you read the comment i replied to? That is not criticism.

I have criticised sissoko on here and would like to see us upgrade but i have never called him shit and don't blame him for every draw/loss especially when there were worse players on the pitch that game.

It was criticism, it might not have been detailed but it was criticism.

Ok but some people think he's shit, I think it's better that they say what they mean than hiding it.

Here twitter wherever. Poch obviously feels the need to defend him so it's not like he and the players are unaware that a lot of fans hate him.

If you paid me 18m to put on a Spurs shirt for four years I think I’d probably develop a level of emotional resilience and awareness that I’m in a working environment that can give me the type of financial reward and adulation that is beyond the dreams of most people, but will also place me in a position of public scrutiny and criticism.

When players do wonderful things they are happy to receive disproportionate remuneration and adulation, they are not politicians making life changing decisions for millions daily, doctors or missionaries in deprived third world countries saving lives after all.

I don’t recall you or anyone ever admonishing anyone for over praising anyone?

All that said, I generally try very hard to make critiques honest, rational, constructive, or at least humorously scathing, as I see it, and try not to cross the line into mindlessly crass.

Once in while I may fail. And when I do, I expect to receive the appropriate critique from others and will take it in the chin.*

* even though I’m not getting 18m.

I’m trying not to bash Sissoko, but the guy is genuinely terrible. He has no techcnique and bumbles around the pitch. I get that he is a physical presence and he certainly offers something unique, but he legitimately slows every attack, can’t beat players, messes easy passes and can’t shoot? I really don’t see what he offers. I hate having to criticise players at the club but most of the time he plays, it’s like we only have 10 on the pitch..

Agree but it’s beyond boring to read now.

How on earth are some on here saying he was our best player? Couldn't fucking control the ball.

Watching him receive the ball is like seeing a baby attempt its first steps. You can see the tentativeness in him. Seriously watch how short his strides are.

He played very well again.

I don't know what's more disturbing, the "played very well", or the fact that you're implying that was just one in a series of good Sissoko performances.

If your standards are really that low, I'd hate to see the state of your missus.

He played comparatively well today, credits to him.

But I really hope Poch is not serious in saying he is one of the most important player in the squad. I like his committment and diligence, but if the team averages an 8.5 out of 10, it is probably because Sissoko is a 6.5 that pulled down the score.

He is definitely not the footballer to bring us up a level and probably never will. He can be a very valuable squad player but his slot needs to be released in the starting XI to allow Lamela or Moura, if signed, to come in.

His not a right sided attacking player, he tries works hard but his not good enough technically but least he tries. We need to sign more attacking players. Hopefully Lucas will be the solution, I think MS should be more of a midfield destroyer less of an attacking player.

Against Newport County, it is fine that Sissoko starts.

When losing to Newport County, and a decent amount of the game has passed, it is not fine that Sissoko stays on the pitch at the expense of others. That he completes the full 90 is baffling.

However this has nothing to do with Sissoko, it is Poch’s decision, and it really really worries that Sissoko keeps playing the full 90 in games we need a goal

Sorry but he did not play well. He was out of his depth against league two opposition. He didn’t beat a man once, his passing was shambolic, he can’t cross, dribble, shoot or control a ball. He trips over his legs every time he gets the ball or kicks it out for a throw. He literally looks like he is losing feeling in his legs when he runs.

I really like him as a person, but I’m sorry he just offers absolutely nothing. It’s getting to the point where I think we could sub a ballboy on and he’d offer more.

I don’t know how it’s even a discussion. He is nowhere near technically good enough to play in an attacking position for us. Nowhere near! Yes he tries but I’m sorry trying isn’t enough. He just isn’t good enough. Get rid ASAP.
