People are moaning about not picking him up 12 months ago...i say where were our scouts 17 years ago.? What do we pay
these guys for? They should be doing deep genetic research so we can start tapping up the parents at the moment of birth.

I think ppl are looking at this in the wrong way.

If Fulham get promoted or simply refuse to sell him then he won't be going anywhere in the next 18 months or so. In the meantime we can strengthen in other pressing areas, get Rose back up to speed and make sure we continue doing the ground work with sess. He's still so young so blowing a chunk of our budget on him when he's not going to make a significant impact from day one may not be the smartest thing. Let's say we've sorted our attack out and added a real quality cm, we should have a very well balanced squad therefore we can afford to wait a little longer and focus on adding these highly talented youngsters.

Yes they need to employ decent Precogs

Have people thought we are being asked to pay (by Fulham) more or less what we are expecting to get for Rose if he is sold this summer ? One is a highly experienced proven PL and international player and the other isn’t. 25 million seems a very generous offer to me.

People need to forget this lads age. He is ready to go the real McCoy. I would shop him for Rose in a nano second. He is more intelligent, has better positioning sense, quicker and more productive going forward. The only plus for Rose is his physicality and he doesn't always use that wisely.
As you can gather I will be really pissed if we miss out on him.

Can't agree more Grey Fox. This was the No.1 target for me last summer and I was saying I would sell Rise and bank the change before Rose's friendly outburst last year. This guy IS phenomenal, this is not a case of buying 'Potential'.

FFS. I don’t know how many tines this has been said but he rejected all the big clubs when he signed pro forms. He just didn’t want to move at the time.

If you say so but I believe Liverpool paid over the odds for Stirling to get him at 15 years old and knowing how Levy operates he would probably have tried to low ball Fulham. Don`t need a lecture from all of you as its just my view on things.

He is more of an attacking player than Rose and personally would like to keep Rose if at all possible as when fit is among the best left backs in the world...

Agreed the for he is one of the Best. However I knew as he had the same agent as Walker that would change Rose's attitude and he would soon get the prick. Which is exactly what happened. But the team was better with wingbacks/ all winger playing fullbacks and at possibly £25m last year end £50m in for Rose...happy with what I saw as an upgrade in attacking for that position. Davies was playing better when we played 4 at the back.

Are we even in the running for him anymore?

He’s taking the Championship by storm and people are really taking notice even in mainstream media now.

I am fully expecting one of the cash laden clubs to come in and just give him and Fulham what they want, and that will be that.

Ever since we signed Bale and Alli from the lower leagues those clubs have been ridiculously jealous of those pick-ups. Liverpool and United fans wouldn’t shut up about how they should have got Alli. They won’t want it to happen again, with a guy who is clearly so special.

I feel like if we were capable of doing a deal with Fulham for this kid, it would have happened by now. It’s been a year now, I’m sure it’s more like 5-10% now, and certainly not getting my hopes up.

I think Champions League next season is critical for attracting players like Sessegnon and Malcolm for next season...
Money is more of an attraction. It has hardly held back Arsenal, Chelsea or Utd's ability to attract top players in recent years without CL football.

When they failed to get in it really proved the lie that it was the prestige not the money which mattered.

Those clubs offered astronomous wages, though. Even with our new stadium and sponsor deals, I doubt we will go that far. CL definately helps.

I think we have a chance here. We might need to be patient.

Why would a young, British talent pick Arsenal or Chelsea over us? Arsenal seem to be selling squad and first teamers without properly replacing them and have a manager who might retire or join the board... As for Chelsea, they have about 30 lads out on loan and change manager more often than some folks change their underwear! Why would you go to a club where there is instability and or no recent history of blooding youth, over one where the manager is one of the best at developing talent?

I would love him in January or the summer. I would also be really annoyed if he went to another club and didn’t fulfil his potential.
