Oh yeah, it's still possible it can tits up from here. Highly unlikely but possible.

Come on mate, you know better than anyone how the Spurs signing players game works.

Until he's signed, been photographed holding the shirt and being cuddled by Poch, been named on the team sheet, come on as sub and started at least three games, there's still a chance of Chelsea coming in and stealing him...

*EDIT - in Llorente's case they even come back 5 months later to try again :D

We don
My belief is we sign so few players (compared to the other big 4 and Arsenal) that we are very demanding on our signings.

We have been lucky on the most part with our budget but we probably can't afford to keep relying on luck.

I doubt we ever rely on luck alone, as we don't have the money to make too many mistakes unlike City, Chelsea and Utd. I would trust our scouting and transfer committee are pretty thorough when it comes to identifying and buying targets

At the start of this window many of us thought we wouldnt sign anyone, perhaps Barkley at most.
To finish the window signing Lucas is fantastic business by the club and just what we need.
We have replaced N'Koudou with Lucas. Not too shabby.

He’s changed it as was en route until everyone said he’s already there :ROFLMAO:

I should add that just a few minutes before, Dan wrote that Moura had not arrived yet. So it's happening right now

Agree.

I didn't mean "luck" per se.

If you look at our transfer history, we may have been extremely lucky. Current team players we got amazing value for are Alli, Dier, Eriksen, Rose, Lloris, Wanyama, Rose, Alderweireld and the list goes on.

I didnt want to add Bale, Walker or Modric as they have left.

We have also had a lot of duds. Most of them are our overpaid signings like Bentley, Paulinho, Soldado etc.

Is it our scouting? Maybe.

However if it is our scouts why aren't the (bigger) clubs poaching them.

I think Poch is the key long term, but i am getting off topic.

Just because he is affordable.
Just because he signs in January.
Just because he plays second or third fiddle in his present team.
Just because he signs for us

We shouldn't fool ourselves by underestimating this signing. It's a piece of insanely shrewd business. We are talking about a club that had it's eyes on Wilfried Zaha, for crying out loud, and plays Sissoko week in week out. We just sent N'Koudou on loan. Knowing this, and not feeling at least SOME excitement about Moura, simply means that one doesn't really understand the basics in this transfer. This is more likely a new Alderweireld/Wanyama type signing, rather than a failure.

I will be the devils advocate.

Is he good enough for our 1st team?

If not, should we put his money elsewhere e.g. Sessegnon.

I personally like (not love) this signing for the money, but just throwing questions out there that people may have.
