This sounds bad but I wouldn't mind Giroud for Spurs. He scores plenty of goals from the bench and he would play at a new stadium. The fans would take to him more than Adebayor. Not gonna happen though!

He’s a preening prick, no thanks.

Players like him are the reason Sanchez doesn't want to be at Arsenal any more. He's more bothered about taking selfies than putting the graft in. He's just not a "winner" or whatever you want to call it. Doesn't have the mentality. The incident that summed it up for me was last season against Bournmouth. Arsenal were 3-0 down and ended up bringing it back to 3-3 with Giroud scoring the equalizer in stoppage time. This was I believe the first match since his "scorpion kick" goal, so he ran to the cameras and started dancing around like a twat doing some sort of weird celebration that was supposed to look like a "scorpion kick" (it didn't) showing off to the cameras. Anyway, while all this is going on, Sanchez is at the half way line screaming at him to stop faffing about and running the clock down because he, quite rightly, doesn't see scraping a draw at Bournmouth to be anything to celebrate and wants to restart play and try to get a winner. Giroud is just a classic example of the selfie-mentality at that club over recent years IMO. More bothered about posing for instagram than competing.

I think they’ve done pretty well if this goes through.

It’s a pretty short term view but it’ll keep them ticking over when they couldn’t really been facked with Sanchez going.

It’s a good signing. He’ll definitely get them goals. People saying the opposite are just putting on a brave face.

That sums up Arsenal in general though with selfies after every match and complacency. For someone who gets 20 a season and not play to his best is pretty decent figures. Someone like Poch is the sort of manager he needs to kick him up the arse and put some graft in. Not going to happen anyway

I agree it's not just him, but he's a classic example of a long line of players they've bought in the last 10 years or so who just don't have the right attitude/mentality and I think that particular incident summed up the dynamic at the club perfectly. I don't think he'd last 5 minutes in a Pochettino team to be honest. If there's one thing we know about Poch is that attitude/mentality is extremely important to him in a player and Giroud is severely lacking in that department.

Not sure where you're getting that he's a 20-goal-a-season striker either. Just had a gander and the most he's ever got in the PL is 16. As you say though, zero chance of it happening either way so doesn't really matter.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: I came to Arsenal to play 'offensive football'

I think he'll find the football pretty offensive...especially playing alongside Wilshire

I really don't want Aubameyang to happen! Seems our only hope is Dortmund not finding a replacement.
It won't happen and I'm not even sure that I would want a disruptive influence in the squad but just imagine if we pulled a fast one and unveiled PEA.

The fallout on ArsenalFanTV would be epic :woot:

I think Arsenal have made the best of a bad deal so credit where its due however, they have sold more than a striker, they have sold the man who set the standard for the other players to match during a game, PEA won't replace that so in effect they have swapped Sanchez for Aubameyang and Walcott for Miktarian, they haven't just added those two players to the squad.

I agree. Has such a poor mentality too. Doing a silly little dance celebration when they equalised at Bournemouth instead of grabbing the ball for a quick restart.

I take it you wouldn't want him then!? Lol

When I think how much we've squandered on Soldado, Vinnie, Clinton and Llorente a 20m price tag don't seem that bad.

Back on topic anyway, fuck Arsenal!!!!!
