Really? Genuine question as I had assumed most would think our squad has improved over the last 4-5 years. Are you just referencing last year with us losing Walker?
I mean we seem to be replacing fringe players most of the time, who then are moved on because they arent afforded time to settle

Our core of our squad has been here throughout poch's tenure the last 4 or 5 windows hasnt seen much improvement overall

Really? Son, Alli, Toby, Sanchez and Wanyama & Aurier I would consider part of our core team now and were all bought within our last 5 Windows and that is over half the 1st 11. IMO only 1 of those was a downgrade (Aurier), though that could change once he has adapted/learnt from Poch.

Not that surprised that we've released Kane Patterson, decent but no more. I think his versatility masked his mediocrity to be honest.

Also not terribly surprised by Cirkin getting released, if he has. Was always highly rated coming up but his development hasn't kept pace this last 12 months and I'd have to say he'd probably look out of place as one of our scholars.

Sorry but there’s absolutely no denying the squad is getting stronger every window.Even the last 2 windows which haven’t been fantastic. We’ve still added wanyama Upgraded Wimmer for sanchez, added very promising youth in foyth. The only area you could argue we are slightly weaker is RB. But still feel Aurier could get close to walker level. And this window upgraded Nkoudou for moura. I would say there’s only 2 possible openings for youth which is CM and back up striker. Both of which I expect we will address in summer. Which will then mean any youth is gonna have to be better than a proven international to break through. I’m actually pretty sure moura will take our outfield international players to 19.

Hence the change in youth policy to loaning rather than in-house training.

Speaking of which, doesn't Ogilvie's loan at Gillingham come to an end this month or has this been extended?

TBH I was mainly referring to the fact that most of Poch's first 11 have come from what he inherited or in his first season, I included Alli in that but he didnt arrive till later

However majority of our team did come from that first season like Rose, Kane, Dier, Vertonghen, Lloris, Dembele, Eriksen and formerly Walker as well as Alli. I would include Lamela had he stayed fit

The original post is that we are getting stronger every window whilst we have had 1 or 2 success stories each season overall, I dont think you can say we are improving every window

I'm a bit puzzled by the lack of updates/reports about Troy Parrott. I'd have expected to hear a bit more about him since he signed.

He already signed? This article said we can officially sign him once he turns 16 which is next month

https://extra.ie/2017/03/07/sport/soccernews/irelands-newest-teen-sensation-preparing-life-spurs

Indeed, first team manager Mauricio Pochettino was said to have received a glowing first hand report of Parrott’s ability from his son Maurizio who played in the game. As per FIFA Article 19, which deals with the transfers of those under 18 and the protection of minors, Parrott cannot sign officially with the north London club until he turns 16.

I must admit I was a little concerned that Kane Patterson did not play in the Alkass tournament assuming he was injured. Now that I know he has been released it does beg the obvious question of what has happened to the following players who I had assumed were assured of a scholarship this year:

Malachai Walcott
Rafferty Pedder
Chay Cooper

As far as I can judge the following will be in the new batch of scholars:-

Luis Binks
J'neil Lloyd-Bennett
Noni Madueke
Harvey White
Enoch Asante
Kacper Kurylowicz
Troy Parrott

If this is the case it will be one of the smallest intakes of recent years. Does anyone know of any newer possible signings?

I have made the assumption that Marcus Muir and Max Robson are U15's though I could be wrong and therefore they could be in the new intake.

walcott played for the u18s as recently as november so i don't think anything has happened to him.

Maybe he's another myth signing that never happened, like Musa Yahaya.
Musa Yahaya actually happened, there was that guy from romania that we apparently signed that never actually seemed to be someone, that stank of being a scam

Walcott is an England U16 & has played U18 football so I'm pretty certain he's in. Chay Cooper I've talked about before, it would be so strange that we bought the lad from Southend in the summer on to let him go 12 months later but that may well be what has happened. Could be wrong but I think Pedder has had a bad injury. Alex Monroe is another lad who's only been with us for 7 or 8 months but doesn't seem to be in the picture going forward. As discussed before Josh Gray has or will almost certainly be released. I'm not sure if Rio Glean is part of this group or the U15s so I don't know what the situation is with him. I thought Sashon Aird-Munn was part of this group as well but it seems he's an U15 so we'll have to see how he does over the next 12 months. Blake D'Arcy was knocking around this season I believe but not sure of his current situation but I think he's played for England although I always get Pedder & D'Arcy confused. I'd also say Parrott's place on the list is mildly in question at the moment.

So at the moment it does look like a smallish squad compared to some years although we may announce to foreign kids that we've heard nothing about in the coming weeks and months.
