There are plenty who suggest we should sit back and let them have the ball and play on the break. And that's fine as long as we actually play on the break - if we sit back and allow their press to overwhelm us at the back, their transitions will happen that much closer to our goal.

It's a tricky one, because I don't think we sat back against them at home. And the full-back question is an important one and I could see Aurier coming back in even though Trippier played really well last night (as did Davies).

I think Wanyama could be ready. Him and Dembele should both start with Dier in a back three.

That would mean sacrificing Son whom was outstanding in the reverse fixture. We’ve been playing much better with a 433.

Is nobody other than me expecting poch to play alli at cm? Just as he did in the home match? Ideally id have dembele as his ball retention would be vital but tbis game may come too soon?

----------------------Hugo--------------------
-------toby-----sanchez------verts-----
Trippier-----------------------------davies
----------------dier--------alli-----------------
------------eriksen---------son--------------
------------------------kane---------------------

Look to bring on dembele/wanyama to shore it up in the second half and perhaps lamela/maura......great options.

Im looking forward to this one!

Would Dembele be up to it with so few days between the matches? He could start on the bench and be used if needed and then be in the starting eleven against Arsenal. We could start with Wanyama instead of Dembele at Anfield.

Dier might have done well against United but he is very poor under pressure. There will be plenty of that at Anfield so i'd be reluctant to play him in midfield

dembele won't play this one so either:
1. same team but Big Vic replacing Dem
2. Toby fit to start and it is 5 at the back

Same team as united for me. Hopefully Toby back on the bench and Moura on the bench. Be great if we can start rose, Toby and Moura against Newport.

The only player that needs to be dropped imo is Trippier. Mane will rip him a new one.
Yesterday was at home and against a Man U team that dont attack so viciously like Liverpool.
Playing Trippier away at Anfield is madness imo

Yes timing will be key.. we need to be tight and compact without gIving them a complete foothold in our half.. tactics and motivation are crucial for this one.. we can do them in if we are on it

Trippier was excellent last nite.. providing he gets support from dier/ eriksen I think he will do just fine

I disagree. He played well yesterday, but the next game will be nothing like yesterday imo.
Liverpool's approach will be more similar to Man City. And in that game, Trippier was awful. Sane completely destroyed him. He will have to face Mane next game.

I hope Poch learned from the mistakes he made against Man City.

He is a confidence player though... his tail will be up after yday.. I haven't seen enough consistency from Aurier yet.. give trippier the support he needs and he will hold his own.. his crossing wI'll be important on Sunday too
