Keeping all our main players and getting them all signed up to new contracts is mine.

That and a new central midfielder in capable of replacing dembele adequately.
but the players we are linked recently are mostly attacking midfielders aren't they? e.g. Malcom, Maddison, Neres (although poo-pooed by JJ)
is Diawara the only central midfielder we are linked in the previous window? if we cannot get a proper successor of Dembele in summer perhaps we will see Dele or Eriksen playing as central midfielder

Strong ball-playing CM who can link play.

That’s it assuming no outgoings.

What is this Modric thing??? Real is quite a mess, and doesn't want to sell one of the best midfielders in the world, and can't see him wanting to come here and propably take a pay cut. I know this is wishlist, but still don't understand.

Think some are wanting too much. In reality we probably only need a Creative CM with this current squad.

Even taking out Llorente, Janssen & Nkoudou we wouldn’t miss them.

Any two from Kovacic, Meyer, Sess and Maddison plus a Fiete Arp will be good enough for me.

And he is genuinely an excellent prospect (I should be cautious stating this! However, he looks the real deal).

Obligatory YT comp:

WOW.....he looks incredible. Like a young, more athletic version of Mousa Dembele.

There would be something almost poetic about signing this kid to be long term replacement for Mousa.

A lot of people are saying Sissoko will be leaving. I wouldn't count on it. Poch has done nothing other than praise him, particularly of late.

We all seriously need to get off the kid's back and just accept that he's probably staying.

I'm not saying I want him to as I agree that we could upgrade him, I just don't see anyone paying the kind of money we would want.

I'm not one to bash him but I think he'll leave especially since Poch has his much needed pacey option in Lucas and probably Malcom as well.

We really are in a fantastic situation compared to other top 6 apart from city. Imo others need.
United-RB back up. CB. LB. DM back up. Creative CM.
Liverpool-RB CBx2 LB DM 2nd striker
Chelsea-creative CM AM x2 striker ?
Arsenal- GK RB CB x2 DM x2 AM

Along with Chelsea I’d say we need the least work.

Chelsea are gonna need a new manager come the summer and wouldn't be so sure if Hazard is there next season.

Arturo Vidal might become available. Wonder if he'd work.

There's also been plenty of ITK about a big name midfielder we've been working on for the summer.

I actually don't mind Sissoko, but with a healthy squad and if we add another midfielder and another attacker I can't see how Sissoko ever even makes the bench next year.

Heck with Lamela and Wanyama healthy, the addition of Lucas, and even Winks hopefully regaining health I wouldn't be surprised to see much less of Sissoko in the back half of this season. Barring more injuries of course.

I get the impression that Sissoko is super-professional off the pitch, as well as being incredibly versatile and that's half the battle really

If he's also made in known to Poch that he's happy to play wherever the manager wants him to play, even sit on the bench for extended periods, then you might find that Sissoko is with us for many seasons to come

Not sure about that, Deschamps has increasingly made it clear that if you're not playing you're not gonna get a spot in the France squad, if he's constantly on the bench he's not gonna get called up, pretty sure he'd rather go elsewhere where he's starting rather than wait for chances.

In: Meyer, Malcom, Arp and Sess.

Out: Sissoko, Llorente, Jansen, Nkoudou, Lamela, Vorm, Davies/Rose (long term health, attitude of Rose needs to be assessed)

I think we will get one more year out of Dembele/Wanyama and then can spend the big money next year on a DM.

Meyer offers an option to both play in CM and as an attacking mid with a lot of the skills that Eriksen brings to the table.
Malcom another pacing wing option that would be an upgrade to Lamela (especially in late game situations) IMO.
Arp I think really wants to come hear and would be a sponge in soaking up all he could learn from Kane while playing in the cups, late game scraps.
Sess would provide LB cover and could be our LB for years to come.

Sissoko, with the signings above would really have very little room to play. Llorente/Jansen just don't give us what we need as is the case for Nkoudou especially with the comp coming in. Lamela needs to go to league where he will get more time on the ball and have a chance to use his vision. Vorm, only because I don't want to have 3 non-English keepers on the books and he is the logical one to be gone. Either Davies or Rose depending on the staffs assessment of the situation. Davies has been good but it has been obvious this year that our FB play going forward on that side is missing some zip. If Rose goes though would be happy to keep Davies.

Meyer isn't even close to the player Eriksen is.

It's like saying Janssen is Kane's replacement.

Just seen Southampton are in massive trouble. They only have 2 home games left against non top 6 teams. Could be some nice easy pickings especially Rodriguez. Also 4/1 to go down is cracking price.
