FULLY FIT SQUAD OMG

Lloris
Aurier - Alderweireld - Vertonghen - Rose
Dier - Dembele
Son - Alli - Eriksen
Kane

Subs: Vorm, Sanchez, Trippier, Wanyama, Winks, Lamela, Lucas

Depends on the game when everyone is fit we have loads of flexibility
My XI

Lloris
Aurier, Toby, Sanchez,Jan, Davies
Eriksen, Dembele, Dele
Kane, Son

If Dembele cannot start then Dier

Against Liverpool at Anfield without Dier or Wanyama holding I think you asking for trouble

They'll have chances no doubt, and will probably score goals as well. But we've all seen that they're likely to give up plenty of chances down their end as well. Ultimately I think it'll come down to which of us converts their chances. We can't afford Kane to miss 2-3 good opportunities like he did against Utd.
I agree two attacking forces on the field and yes if harry isn’t in form we just won’t score enough goals. I am going with score draw, but the could be 2-2 3-3 who knows! I would feel far more confident if Kane had scored this week and Toby was back!

Toby needs to play, he may not be fully fit but losing this game would be a huge blow for our top 4 hopes.
You don't play a player coming off a major hamstring injury until he is fully fit without risking injury, especially against a team whose mobility will cause our defense to make a bunch of short sprints.

We need pace against this lot, and no fannying around with it close to our own goal, we will be punished if we do

If Rose is anywhere close to being able to do 60 mins, I’d be tempted.
Just think his niggle and snarkiness might be ideal to knock Salah off his stride.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Not sure what team should play but as man unites are winning this is a massive game if we want to keep all the places between 2nd ans 4th in play, have to win this and beat Arsenal

Will be interesting to see if Poch plays Aurier at LB again (as he did in the reverse fixture). Mane and Salah’s pace will cause us problems, I wonder if Rose is fit enough to start?

Didn’t he do that because Davies had been out ill and Rose wasn’t match fit yet?

Those people saying same team as wednesday probably think Liverpool will simply roll over for us like united did. Make no mistake, Liverpool will come wtih full force at us, but they will also leave a few spaces for us to explote at the back if Pochetino is smart enough and plans accordingly. Therefor, this would be the line ups I would propose:

.................... Lloris ....................
.....
Sanchez .... ...... Jan...........
Aurier .............................Davies
............... Dier ... Dele .............
Son............ Eriksen ...... Lamela
.................... Kane ......................

.................... Lloris ....................
..... Sanchez .... ...... Jan...........
Trippier ............................Davies
............... Dier ... Dele .............
Lamela....... Eriksen ............ Son
.................... Kane ......................

I would totally play Dembele instead of Dier if it wasn't because we had a match midweek. Lamela would offer some cover for either Davies or Trippier. Eriksen and Dele could switch positions, but I think Dele offers a bit more defensive cover than Christian, while also helping us to take them on the counter more effectively.

I think we have to match their 3 in midfield or risk getting overrun. That's probably why we played 3-5-2 last time we played them.

what reason's can you give for dropping a player.
all played well against manc's.
Trippier had the most touches in that game.
what message does it send to the player who is dropped.

I wouldn't say its about personnel as much as it is about how they are deployed. The 11 that beat united will probably play but I doubt Liverpool will be as passive as united were when they didn't have the ball.

Get at these and we'll score goals. Overcomplicate things in our half and we'll get bummed like we have been every time recently.
