Hasnt looked quite at the races last couple of games, IE this one and United. I love he likes to shoot and I know Strikers are a selfish breed, but just sometimes he needs to look up. Could mean the difference between 0 and some points.
Let's hope it's not £25million a year from Madrid that's on his mind...

Joke!

Funnily enough this is exactly the sort of game where a pacy wide man like Moura would be useful

But that's the only thing he's done. Not knocking him, he does more then enough for this team, it's just he doesn't seem his normal self to me. He shooting from long range has been off as well. I'm sure he will turn it back on at some point.

He's been blocked out by Liverpools tactics and our midfield not being able to create any space. But for turning the wrong way into one challenge I can't see that he could have done much more with his lot.

We’re making errors because we keep trying to pass out through Dier and Dembele when Liverpool are treble pressing them. If there are three guys there, why not just play it into the space behind?
That's what I said, we're making mistakes. Although quite why a simple pass goes to an opposition player I do not know :D

Klopp has some cheek slagging teams that park the bus. Exactly what they are doing only they can afford Salah and mane .

I'm no expert but two goals from us without reply and we've got all three points.

Trippier should just play the ball up field and stop trying to be so cute in our own half.

The lack of intelligence is fucking worrying.

I agree. Before it gets to Eriksen who receives the ball with 2 Liverpool players on his back virtually, the ball could have gone forwards at least twice from either Hugo or Trips. Especially with five seconds left in the half

We have better players but they know how to play their system

They have 8 defensive players and a front 3

Our problems against teams at press all start with Hugo and poor kicking.

Then they deliberately press dier as he can’t handle being pressed

They then cleverly let dembele have the ball as they know his passing won’t create anything it’s simple.

If you realise against teams that press we never play badly but individual errors cost us. Liverpool just set mini traps.

Watch the second half when dier gets the ball they hound him they know he will panic.

Then dembele will get it they drop off and let him have it.

Eriksen gets it they press etc it’s a well thought out plan that is pretty simple to break up Hugo just needs to go long and turn them every kick. Mix it up a bit.

Our play when out of possession was just about as bad as I've ever seen it under Poch. We were completely rattled by the early mistake from Dier and never managed to regain our composure.

I would say that we need to sit back and invite them onto us and try to hit them on the counter, but having the lead they have no reason to open up and leave gaps to exploit. That early goal completely fucked up our ability to execute the obvious game plan.

Hopefully Poch can get them focused again at half time, at least we're only down one and can change the game back in our favor in an instant.
Yeah I agree but you’d have thought they would know to focus

Not quite right. He's had about 3 good games this season :meh:. He's not a midfielder though and for a lot of the season has played like the game is beneath him. I think that bid from Mourinho has messed with his head :banghead:.
He's a lot better at CB but he's easily turned and that's not a good attribute.

Shearer and Sherwood slating Dier and our stupidity of trying to play tippy tappy shit out of the back.
First time I agree with Dim. It hasn't been controlled but high risk - it's been hazardous. Cannot continue like that and except to not concede more.

lol

That's rubbish too, so it isn't exclusive. This match is all about errors and we keep making them.

That's rubbish too. This match is all about...........:D

No, it's about playing into the opponents hands that force errors, which is exactly what they did to City. Liverpool love teams like us and City that want to play out from the back, they invite the first pass then swarm, and if you aren't tactically switched on to this, have great movement and CM's that are dynamical moving constantly to offer out balls, you will make mistakes, which is what happened and exactly what happened there last year.

For all those creaming off of us controlling the game I think it's fair to say pool have dropped off since we lost control of the game 2 minutes in.

We score and how long do you think before they are gifted with a peach of a self inflicted chance once they over run us again

How the fuck can you tell they dropped off after 2 minutes of football before any pattern of play was established?
