Both penalties were correct calls ultimately. Those pundits who disagree are just finding faults to justify Liverfools not winning.

What's next? Is getting boring.

The pundits should actually be praising the teamwork shown by the Ref and linesman on those penalty calls.

Too often you get a linesman who hasn't got the balls to raise his flag for those kind of decisions (especially in favor of the away side at hostile places like Anfield).

For me, those two penalty calls showed exactly how a ref and his linesman should work.

That was a terrible first penalty, if you're going down the centre you have to slow it up, actually give the keeper chance to dive out the way, or at least hit it higher.

Never like penalties down the middle - always prefer into a corner and low, no keeper is getting to them. But as you say, if you are hitting down the middle, you have to be sure the keepers all ready made the first movement one way or the other.

I think he panicked. Seen it before. Being the type of keeper he is, I expect him to come dashing out in situations like that.

In think it's so rare that straight balls break our defence in those positions he just doesn't know what to do.

In real time was expecting to see him running out but as soon as he was no where you knew it was a goal

Just finished watching (had it on record).

Firstly, for all the hate he gets Jon Moss (and his assistants) called everything spot on.

Secondly, that second half performance is what we need from kick off in these away games. Showed how good and dominating we CAN be. Just need to do it more consistently.

Sanchez had a very poor game, even second half when everyone else stepped up.

Cannot believe Kane didn’t score the first, though if he did I reckon Salah doesn’t score as the wind goes out of their sails.

Had you offered me a draw prior to kick off I’d have taken it. Especially 2 minutes in. However, after that second 45 I’m disappointed we didn’t actually win in the end.

Both positives and negatives to take away from this. Am thoroughly glad we took the smirk right off Klopp’s arrogant face though!

Still fuming that (a) Poch picked the wrong team and tactics despite losing the game at Anfield inside 20 mins last year, and (b) Kane took such a crap penalty which would have won all three points.

Sometimes getting a last gasp equaliser feels like a win, but this feels like 2 dropped points.
If he had scored the first, then the second incident wouldn’t have even occurred.

I'm fucking buzzing. I was losing hope of finishing in the top 4. But now I'm dreaming again.
Tad bit deflated tbh. Adamant we should have won that game.

Appreciate the work done to get the draw, but really annoyed how much we squander good situations and refuse to play simple, obvious, high percentage balls.

Does my head in and I can't see us being a really top team if we don't get it fixed as you can only get to the top when you can close those tight margins.

Saying all that, would have felt like shite if we'd have lost, so, onwards and let's get into the next round of the cup and then go on to crush the scum.

We didn't deserve to lose on the performance. Certainly miles better in the second half. If only Harry scored the first time round.....yeah there would have still been about ten minutes to hang onto but :(

I guess it's better to think of it this way....he scores, Salah equalises then he misses right at the death. Still 2-2 but such a different feeling.

We always struggle here so I'd have taken a point. The performance was good and hopefully we take the momentum of the equaliser into the big one.....NEWPORT COUNTY WE'RE COMING FOR YOU

The pundits are Carragher, Souness and that absolute mong Jamie Redknapp! Might as well sit there with their Liverpool shirts on! Carragher and Souness are good when the subject isn’t Liverpool related. Redknapp jnr is absolutely stealing a living, he’s a complete idiot who offers nothing

The dribble was great skill, which we know Salah is capable of, actually thought Vertonghen (who was my MoTM) wasn't great for it either.

Hugo went down far too easily and seemed to lose his positioning, left the near post far too open by doing that. If he stays up, Salah has to go far post/across goal.
Great skill or not its not hard when you are facing the opposition to stop a player getting through. If he stays up Salah is so close he can just smash it into the near post. Or just hit it really hard which would most likely lead to a deflection resulting in a goal.

This isn't a one on one near the edge of the box, this is right in front of the goal, You cant cover every angle that close, staying up in that position would still most likely result in a goal.

In retrospect, yes, that would of been a more sensible thing to do, but if Lloris managed to get anything on the ball by going in like that there wouldn't of been a goal. Similarly even failing to get to the ball on time, Salah's shot there is actually very hard to pull off, because he has very little time to get the ball up and over the goalkeeper.

You can find fault in it, but it is by far one of the more minor errors in that passage of play. Great Skill or not, there were three defenders behind the ball that Salah had to beat. Verts just had to hold strong, not get sucked in like that, and I have no idea what Davies was doing trying to get a tackle away from his angle, just follow him on and protect the space between the ball and the goal.
