A good team selection and run out for those returning from injuries but would have been good to see some youth players coming on as subs instead of risking Dele Eriksen and Co.

I think those that are focusing on Sissoko being our worse player should pay more attention to Lloriente

The game was about a team with two Argentines, managed by an Argentine where one was MOTM and the other the closest contender.

Coco who at times reminded me of CR7 was my MOTM

Foyth, with the exception of a questionable pass at the start looking very good. But mom clearly goes to Lamela, just class.

Lamela my MotM. Son was great too. Foyth looked calm at the back. Through to next round. Clean sheet, no injuries. All good (y)

Lamela will rightly get the plaudits today but I thought Foyth grew into that game and really looks an accomplished young defender who will be a great asset for us going forward.

Sissoko played very well I thought, but Lamela just edges the MOTM. Great performance from him :)

Lamela my man of the match. Decision-making excellent and really impressed with his commitment to win the ball, which doesn't often go hand in hand with a player of his silky skill set. Loved the patience he showed in taking his goal.

Foyth also coming along well.

Llorente just can't buy a goal. Deserves better. Confidence on the wane.

Not at all impressed with Sissoko.

Lamela and Son the sparks. Foyth a baller.

But I'm giving my vote to Danny Rose. None of this easing himself back in after injury shite. He got up and down the pitch. He pushed himself with sprints. He took some rough treatment. And he kept on going.

His attitude's been questioned in the past, but tonight I saw a guy going all out to recapture his form and fitness after a crap few months.

Good lad, Danny.

Oh, and a quick word for Wanyama who cleverly blasted that shot half a mile off target just to rub the salt of his Anfield goal into Scouse wounds a little bit more. Nice one, Vic.

Foyth clear MOTM. Such a classy player.

Lamela being compared to Ronaldo after scoring against Newport County is peak SC.
But he did remind me. Both in appearance on the pitch and how he commanded the game. Am I not to allowed to mention it?

Standouts, Son, Lamela and Foyth.

A stroll that but for some better finishing would have been a lot more comfortable.

Lamela MOTM great game from him. Foyth looks a tidy little player, lot of potential. Good to see a much needed 90mins for a number of players returning from injury. Job done onto next round.

Considering the level of opposition Llorente put in one of the most woeful performances I've seen for a long time. An all round pathetic display from him.

Lamela MotM, closely followed by Foyth.

Almost more importantly, it was great to see Wanyama, Lamela, Alderweireld and WInks get through a full 90 minutes and Danny Rose get close to it. Good signs for the future fitness of the squad.

Literally forgot winks played. Played it way too safe tonight. Benefit of doubt fitness wise.

Good professional performance, well oiled pressing, slick football, you wouldn’t think that this xi had almost no recent football between them and certainly not together. Pleased.

Vorm made the save he needed to make.

Aurier was fine, got up and down well.

Foyth was classy and, one bad pass aside, showed coolness and authority throughout.

Alderweireld slipped back in well, got 90 under his belt and was dependable as ever.

Rose was a constant threat and attacked well but delivery let him down, good energy throughout though.

Wanyama was okay, still seems a bit off the pace.

Winks eased back in, was neat and tidy.

Sissoko was industrious but lacked quality.

Lamela was excellent, drove our attacks, looked creative and scored a nice goal.

Son was very good, unpredictable and linked well with Lamela.

Llorente looks shorn of confidence, he should have scored one of two great chances. Often statuesque too. Some nice touches.

Eriksen knitted things together nicely.

Dele played well but when he had the chance to score, his finish sucked and he blew it, what a load of bollocks. Fellatio.

Walker Peters looked purposeful and threatening with a couple of nice forays down the left.

Lamela was probably the best player out there and will no doubt win this poll by a landslide, so I'm giving it to Aurier who is looking better and better.

Special mention to Wanyama who is now moving around well, and in contention for a starting place on Sunday, Rose who is not 100% but good to have him back and Winks of course, who looked OK apart from his inability to pass forward.

Lamela motm. Hard to judge how good against that opposition but had great control and vision.
Son close second. Defenders must hate him.
You could see Alli and Eriksen were class above when they came on.
Kwp did well imo. Very promising.
Foyth was ok for most of the game but jesus christ those passes in first 5min were fkin suicidal and frankly idiotic. I know he's young but he's not blind and stupid is he?
Great to see Tobys cross field balls again. He's gonna make a massive difference.
Wanyama did well.
Everyone else, meh
