I read this depressing stat earlier today.

We've dropped 37 points from winning positions against Arsenal since the beginning of the PL in 92. This is a record dropped points total against any team in the PL. The bastards up their game against us every time and I'm not so confident against them even when they're apparently crap. Despite the crap season they're supposedly having they're still only 4 points behind us. I think it's going to be very close.

One of them games, I should feel really confident given everything but being a Spurs fan I am also petrified.

Sod it, lets hit them hard and fast, and win 4-0!

Most of their success against us was before we got our act together, the first fifteen years not the last ten years and certainly not the last five plus a couple of months ago they were seven points ahead of us and now they are four points down on us, keep the faith bro'.

Shitting it. Always hate NLDs until (and if) the final whistle goes with us getting a result. Fuck the Daleks, these games are the reason to hide behind a sofa until it's over.

The trouble with that stat, as worcestersauce says, is that it's completely warped by the fact that until maybe 5 years ago, there was a massive gulf in quality between the two clubs. For most of that period they were challenging for trophies while we were wallowing around as a mid-table team at best half the time. That gulf is no longer there. I'm with you in terms of not getting too cocky, as you say they're not as far off us as some of our fans are making out, but the fact that we dropped lots of point from winning positions mostly over a decade ago doesn't really have any bearing on the two teams that will play tomorrow.

Predicting a good win, with Sissoko playing very well (again) but then being hounded out by the Spurs mafia.
First mention of Sissoko in the match thread Klaxon!

Current score: Positive mentions: 1, Negative mentions: 0.

I'm flip flopping between being excited and terrified.

Going to be a 2 hour train journey home after so god help me if we lose.

It’ll be my second NLD tomorrow. My first was the Danny Rose on his debut so it’s been a while. As I said in another thread I’m usually the pessimist but I’m so confident in how good we are at the moment.

I was thinking about it today. How did we even get to this point? The squad we have is crazy. This is a great time to be a Tottenham fan

Hmmm I wonder whether I'll be on the lash for the next week or booting my cat out the window come 2:30 tomorrow.

Over to your spurs.

Dear Poch,

Key to this game - don't get cocky.

Thats was my first NLD and this is my second aswell!! Hoping for the same result! Was so tense in the final 20 mins or so of that game. Gomes pulled off an absolute worldy from RVP at the end the stop them getting a draw.

Been catching up on the gooners forums and they are all banging on about how it’s practically a home game for them. Their confidence is winding me up.

You could turn that stat and say for a long time we uppped our game, and got in winning positions when we had no right to, as they had vastly superior players in every position. That is not the case anymore, and we should go into this angry how we performed at their place.

The thought of Aubamayang and Mkitaryan on the break makes me queasy. The way those two dismantled us for Dortmund a few years back still haunts me.
