Should be ecstatic tonight, but my head keeps drifting to Kane’s missed penalty which should have meant 9 from 9. What the fuck is wrong with us fans?!

Ha! Me as well. I'm buzzing, but yeah I keep thinking if Kane had placed it, like he did with the second, we'd most likely of taken 9 from 9, which would of been an exceptional return.

As it stands I think every one of us would of settled for 7 from 9.

And I'm also a smidget disappointed we didnt smash them today, another 4-0 would of been about right.

But let's be honest, we've really produced when it mattered. It was a defining period, and we've smashed it really. Says a lot about our mentality and it's exciting times when you contemplate the true potential of this squad under Pochettino.

Yup, we’d all have taken 7 points from 9 prior to our last three games but to actually be able to say we did is a proper mental breakthrough I feel.

Bar the modest score line, we just beat the absolute shit out of Arsenal. Just like we did with United and in the second half at Anfield. We look very good at the moment; I expect us to gather more momentum and secure top three

We have been bullying great teams. If it clicks and we put away more of the chances we create, that's scary.

no player can maintain the concentration needed for a top performance every game, all season - it just doesnt happen. the level of concentration our boys have shown the last 11 days is fantastic. 7 points off of 3 top 6 teams and advanced in the FA cup. christ this was unthinkable 5 years ago.

I don't wanna hear any of the stuffs that 3-4 of the big boys underperformed thus giving us a handicap to be in front of them. We have matched them, if not exceeded, in terms of performance so far.

In truth we should have scored at least 1 more against Utd and probably 3 more against Arsenal and win the Liverpool match.

Just frustrating a bit that once again we haven’t really got going till new year. Ok Wembley and injuries played there part. But it’s clear now if you want to mount a serious title challenge you have to come out firing from day 1. Gone are the days when a team can ease their way into a season. Hopefully the transfer window closing early should help a bit. But once again I feel we may be hampered but such a large quota at World Cup(probably be most of any top 6) and the new stadium.

I've seen this mentioned so many times yet we've only lost 1 game there and drawn a few. I think we doing ok at Wembley.. Our points composition is 33 at Wembley and 19 away.

Not sure how that compares to last season at the same stage though.

Edit: same stage at Whl was 38 points.

I was pretty frustrated at the time and vented about Poch not being proactive with his subs but it's clear injuries and squad depth halted our progress.

We'd had that huge win against Madrid before things fell off track and that was purely down to being unable to rotate. Meant the likes of Eriksen had to be 100% every game and we all know that isn't possible. Having the core base (Dembele Toby and Wanyama) absent for so long really disrupted us. Just knowing their are options on the bench allows you to alter things slightly if not going your way. Unfortunately poch didn't have that luxury.

Next season it's incredibly important that we have our transfer targets in the door before the wc. We then need to ensure no risks are taken with injured players (Wanyama ). We actually started the season really strongly but the lack of options to change the games against Swansea and Burnley made us lose ground fast. I think we were missing an option off the bench. Hopefully the likes of Moura, Lamela and new signings can give us that cause we can't rely on Llorente and Sissoko to do it, as proven.

City have the best depth in terms of squad in the league. It's mostly down to their spending power but they got their big buys in early and bedded them In, it allowed pep to rotate frequently. In turn they were able to go unbeaten for so long as their levels never dropped. If we can do the same in terms of healthy options then I'm sure we can challenge.

I think we are very much a rhythm team and seem to hit our best form when we have a settled line up. Unfortunately for various reasons we just couldn’t get that rhythm going before Xmas. However we’d never have kept pace with city whatever. So top 4 and a cup would be fantastic season considering. I actually believe all round we are a better team than last season. Although we’d won games against top 6 before they’d always been tight games. I can never remember us dominating the big 6 games like we have in last 3 games.

Fingers crossed both newcastle and saints can deliver today.
Both are at home so do we fancy either of them to take points off pool or united?

Rashford out for united. They literally have no attacking option on bench. Tbh their squad isn’t all that.

Fancy Southampton's chances better than Newcastle's, and I'd settle for one of them dropping points right now.

If United keep playing like they are in the first half at Newcastle we will finish second. Very poor apart from Sanchez who looks a class above the rest. Middle of midfield same as against us ...rubbish. Pogba looks like he is carrying an injury.

The next 4 PL games

Palace (a)
Huddersfield (h)
Bournemouth (a)
Newcastle (h)

With our last 3 performances I hope complacency doesn’t set in, these are all tough games against teams fighting relegation we can’t expect them to roll over
