How do they explain us finishing above them in the league in what is it 9 of the last 10 seasons ?

Sign up and ask them. I know you’ll feel like you’ve murdered a puppy but it’s for the greater good.

Anyway, their answers will be as follows:

‘It’s been a transitional period since Rafa left’

‘If Kane and Dele had been rightfully banned for the Man City fiasco earlier this season, we’d have finished above you the previous 8 years’

‘Grrrr, cheating, diving, loud noises, small club, Dalglish, Klopp, victims’.

‘Yeah but you’ve still won fuck all’ (this is the one most will use because it detracts from the actual question).

My bindipper brother in law called me after the game yesterday, within 30 seconds the conversation went on to how Liverpool are amazing under Klopp, best football since th 80’s, we were very lucky yesterday and we will never fill our new ground. Initially he called me to ask if I could run him up to the shop. I didn’t even start talking about Tottenham.

Get this all the time now, friends who support rival teams have been calling me and messaging me to talk about Spurs, some going with begrudging praise, some saying that we gotta win a trophy, some saying that Poch, Kane will leave...I hadn't even uttered a word about football but they need to get their point across regardless.

All comes down to one reason, it's because we're a genuine threat and people are worried about us. :D

Going through the Juve forums today, found them a bit less optimistic than a couple of weeks ago or whenever it was I last looked. Though I have to give them credit, mostly they're not football idiots, it seems, though of course they do have their share of idiots too (who doesn't, not us surely .... ;-/)

Anyway so Lippi said in some interview a few days ago that we're basically like Barca, we have a good attack but we can't defend, so the bianconeri will turn us over no problem. To their credit, even though he's sort of their Hoddle, most of them laughed him off. (not to say that I'm not quite pleased to be compared to Barca...)

So, clever and knowlegable posters:

1.Tottenham are nothing at all like Barca. They attack much more centrally with cut-ins and crosses from the wings.
If anything they're more like us, except they defend less compactly and play higher.

-sounds like a pretty accurate analysis to me-

2.They remind me of Inzaghi's Lazio, but are actually better, with a stronger midfield, constant attacking from the wings with very attacking wingbacks. They also have a European quality attack. We are going to suffer without Matuidi and Cuadrado, who are the players that allow us to break up the central attacks and counter quickly.

(they have a several key injuries, besides those two Dybela is out and Manzukic might be - we're in a much better position with respect to injuries)

3. There is too much blind optimism in here, as usual, thanks to the incompetent posters who never watch European football.
Tottenam are currently one of the best teams in Europe.

So I have to say, in general, although they think they are favourites, which after all we have to admit they are, most don't think it's going to be a walk in the park, and think that anything but a top performance won't be enough.

Of course you can always find half-wits on any forum (except of course this one!) My favourite was this guy (still on the juve forums):

tactically they are inept like every English team and to compare them to the Barca is blasphemy. If we play as we can, it's an easy victory.

What made it nice though was that this guy has Klopp as his avatar. Umm.....has Klopp, as the representative of Liverpool, become the international symbol of delusion? Or perhaps that poster was a troll (laughing at the tactical ineptitude of English teams, while having the manger of an English team as his avatar)

I think it would be a big mistake to go there and sit back and play there tight and gritty type of football. They are at home and with the players they are missing are under great pressure to perform and win. We need to attack and take it to them.
