Doesn't necessary mean anything but he's saying that he would rather go to Spain because of the nice weather and higher level of the Spanish league compared to the prem... around 13:10 for those who's interested. Would love to get him though - amazing talent.

Higher level? Barca are walking the league, Real look broken, Atletico have been distinctly average and the rest are crap. Spain is nowhere near the overall quality and competitive level of the premier league.

So, speaking of strikers as back up to Harry Kane, what are the realistic options?

Old veteran, young and hungry player, or £70m forward in his prime (bit unlikely)?

Who do you guys like the look of out there?
We need someone who's not a direct backup. Someone who can play across the front 3 so that they get plenty of options because let's face it, if kanes fit and we need to win, they aren't getting a look in- see llorente and Janssen. Someone who can play off the centre and can also play central or we could do what Liverpool do and have no real focal point but fluid movement.

Griezmann, Mertens or Rashford would be ideal.

If we make the CL, why not?

Griezmann is still a step too far I think.
Mertens is great but probably too old.
Rashford won't be allowed to join us if he leaves.

I agree on the type of player you have quoted though.

Agree, I can’t see us spending the 70 odd mil it would take to sign Griezmann, although I do think he would be an excellent addition and would add that big name marque signing that would help boost our profile alongside the new stadium. Still, will never happen.

I’m amazed so many people think we might have a chance of signing Rashford, it’s never going to happen. Not unless Utd get Kane in return. Rashford will come back into Jose’s plan as soon as he gets fed up with Martial and so on. Llorente chance of us getting Griezmann.

Mertens is an interesting one. Personally I think he would be an excellent option. Yes he’s 30 but even so he is fast, clever, can play on his own up front or on ether wing and, most importantly, as of summer he will have a €28 mil release clause which is peanuts in this market. If we could get Mertens and maybe sign Arp with the intention of leaving him to develop for another season I reckon we would be sorted for a long while. Still agree tho, I can’t see it happening.

Levy is never going to sign someone over 28 who’s never played in the PL before, and is looking for his last big contract.

It’s a World Cup year, Rashford must be questioning if Mourinho will ruin his career. I can see Rashford forcing a move now he knows he’s stuck with Jose for another 4 years!

Spot on, we basically need another Son, I say let’s go back to Leverkusen and get Brandt. If we are really ambitious and want to shop where the big clubs aren’t looking then Daniel Podence at Sporting would be my pick. He is devastating.

Timo Werner would be ideal, it'll never happen, but ideal nonetheless.
Still a bit of a pure counter attacking style of player. Looks much worse when Leipzig are forced to have the ball and the other team sits back.

Also showed some weak mentality in Turkey this year.

Decent player, but his price would probably be far higher than his actual value to us.

If Griezmann goes to Barcelona maybe someone like Alcacar is worth a punt? Rashford is (as has been said) ideal, young and hungry and will push everyone in that squad. Will not happen unfortunately.

Fekir would be the best back up striker/AM option for us IMO. I don't think it's realistic though, but no less realistic than Radford, Werner, Mertens and more realistic than Griezmann.

We need three signings + any replacements for possible exits of players such as toby or danny (i don't think either will leave personally)

Winger (who can also cover up top for Harry)
Dream: Bailey
Realistic: Richarlison

Creative competition for Eriksen (who can also play across the three behind H)
Dream: Malcom
Realistic: Malcom/Amiri

First team ready CM to come in and replace Dembele
Dream: NDombele/De Jong
Realistic: Doucoure/Kondogbia

Any of these players and I'll be very happy. Would also like Sessegnon but I have the feeling that we've missed that chance. Shame.

Absolutely doesn’t need replacing just yet
