Was it a massive injury? I thought he hadn't needed surgery. When people say massive injuries, I think of ACLs, complete hamstring tears, double leg fractures, Achilles ruptures.

Maybe just semantics but i thought it was a standard hamstring injury.

The idea of a "standard hamstring injury" is a myth. No such thing. Never has. Never will be. Hamstrings are incredibly finicky.

Well, they have standards like grade 1, 2 and 3. I assumed that because he didn't have surgery, it can't have been a complete tear (because that requires surgery), and anything less than that isn't really "massive".

I thought we had info that his hamstring had detached from the bone, and needed to be surgically reattached?

It was posted elsewhere this morning by someone who has had info before

“As for Toby, the story is that his team had been quite hard to work with and eventually everyone including Poch sat down together and asked him what he wanted. He wanted a huge amount, double the highest paid player at the club. Everyone went away and Levy asked Poch what he thought and Poch said we should pay it. Poch used that to his advantage and told Toby that he is going to get him what he wanted. They shook hands and everyone felt very good. So they drew up the contract and gave it to Toby as soon as he got himself fit (last week). His agent turned round and said thank you, but we've changed our mind and we now want this much instead. Poch flipped as you saw. It's not dead but not in a good place right now.”

Not even close to what have been told, and that info has been ongoing for the last 4-5 months.

We played with Walker last year, even when it was clear he was leaving. So I don't believe Toby being left behind has something to do with his contract. Poch seems to play the players he wants, no matter their contractual status, IMO.

Don't take it literally. He means serious injury, that's it. Poch is not a linguist he's Argentinian football manager.

to go from paying 50k? to 200k? to a player who isn't our best would be hard to believe, to believe Levy would do it is next to impossible, it's like for years stating you are afraid to stand in a water stream but then one day suddenly jumping in the sea, sorry if that doesn't make sense, it was the 1st random example that came into my head :) I would expect when Levy breaks wage structure it would be very calculated with our best player being the ceiling, to pay Toby 200k you have to then increase Kane to at least 300k etc not going to happen...

Not sure about that. Toby is 29 and one of the best CB in Europe. This is his last big contract so he’d be up there with top earner for me. Kane still has at least 2 or 3 big contracts in him. If Kane is on 200k Toby and probably Verts should be too.

Well that's what the next round of contract talks is going to look like. Eriksen is supposedly on £60k a week, if his agent doesn't demand in the region of £200k a week he isn't doing his job

So that's Verts, Harry, Toby and Eriksen on £200k per week. Dele will want some of that too. Start looking forward to your £4k a year season ticket at the new ground.

*And Hugo.... FFS!

Toby and Verts yeah 200k or whatever Kane gets. They are the best in the country in their positions for me. Eriksen and Hugo more 160k. Might seem harsh on Hugo but he isn’t quite their level. Love the guy, hope he stays for years but not quite there. Eriksen might be by his next deal but not yet.

I'd respectfully disagree. Eriksen is literally the last player in our team I'd sell after Kane.
