Alcacar would just whither and die here, as he's a pure number 9 type. Why would he swap Barca's bench for ours, etc?

We need another Son type forward, can play wide, but maybe with a bit more strength and presence, so can play with their back to goal too when needed.
Lucas Moura?

If Toby doesn’t sign a contract, we should be keeping tabs on Lascelles I reckon.

I know everyone loves De Ligt, and he is a lovely player, but there may be bigger fish in for him.

Lascelles is having a very good season, good pace, physical, and real organising and leadership in an average team. Big question mark is whether he’s a good enough ball player for our style. Would definitely be sending Pleaty...

Highly doubt we'd sign him, because our pulling power seems to be increasing steadily with each transfer window and we no longer need to make these sort of punts. And signing him directly from Croatia maybe a unecessary reach.

But if we are still looking for more creativity to go along with Eriksen and Lamela, I'd like to take a chance on Lovro Majer. Fantastic little creative type right in the mold of Eriksen. Someone that plays as a hybrid between an 8 and a 10.

You may have just found BC's next obsession...

Only things we really need in summer are:
-New contracts for Toby and other main players
-No injuries
-Keep all our best players
-Upgrade on llorente
-Possible upgrade in CM if Winks Or Dembele have long term fitness doubts, but I think they’re both fine so fine there.
-Possibly bring in Malcom and would need to offload Lamela or Sissoko.

Squad:
Lloris
Vorm
Gazziniga

Aurier
Trippier

Toby
Jan
Sanchez
Foyth

Rose
Davies

Dier
Wanyama

Dembele
Winks

Eriksen
Moura

Dele
Lamela

Son
Sissoko

Kane
Llorente upgrade

No weaknesses. What a fucking squad we have.

well BC is too late, Lovro is already my obsession, but i'll have to step it up and mention his name at least once every 5 pages to keep up to BC's level. Just in case. ;)

Yes, it is true. São Paulo tried him on the left, assuming he would be affective cutting in like Ronaldinho, Neymar, etc, but it didn’t work. He’s played in the right pretty much ever since.

Actually looking back, he seems to have scored one of if not his first hat trick playing on the left:

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/2206557

According to transfermarkt he's scored 37 from 161 games on the right (1 in 4.3) and 7 from 32 (1 in 4.5) on the left. He clearly isn't "pretty shite" cutting in from the left.

It is true that I have read more then one account of his inability to play on the left, or rather his lack of effectiveness in other positions. But as I haven’t seen him play anywhere other then right wing I can’t really comment on his ability or lack there of as a LWF. From his skill set one would think he would do well cutting in but who knows, it’s never really that simple.

Dembele was sublime and put on a masterclass on Saturday, but there was a point in the game(between 60-70 minutes I think) where he had the ball and Eriksen broke into space on the top right. It was crying out for a pass forward, a chip or even a toe punt but Dembele held onto the ball.

In those few seconds it summed everything up about what we need which is a central midfielder who keeps his head up and can pass forward. When Dembele plays like he did on Saturday I question the need for a defensive midfielder alongside him, but a Luke Modric or similar next to him would be a different story.

The problem is, Dembele played 60% of last season and 50% of this. Even if we assume he's going to be his best self for all of that, we just can't count on a player with that kind of input.

And I don't think Dembele would be ideal with all the defensive responsibility, he's not the most dynamic and is a very clumsy tackler, and has invariably looked fucked from about 60 minutes on.

I'd like a good 8 and a footballing 6, and if we are not going to integrate Onomah then we need to go shopping for both. And if TA goes, move Dier back where he belongs and move forward with two new CM's (8 and 6) Wanyama and Winks. We could always retain Dembele as well and call on him as and when.

Do we have any chance with Milinkovic-Savic?

No? All right then :blackeye:

Yeah have been watching him. Pretty impressive player. Same physical abilities of a Pogba IMO but has more influence in terms of taking control of periods of games. Main point being periods of games. From the stuff I have seen and read he goes missing but has all the tools in his cabinet. Sound like someone? Pogba?

Love a talented Croat. This kid looks like he has some ability. I think there is still value to be had in certain leagues, and it would be criminal if we are still not looking at kids like this.
