Lets be brave and go for it. Physical, powerful and beastly! 4231 with moussa and big vic winning the midfield battle.

We have to do our very best to get a goal.

Well we did beat them preseason with 4 at the back and pretty much identical squads.

I'd be very surprised if it's not Davies/Trippier for Juventus and Aurier/Rose for Rochdale. People can talk about rotation all they want, but if performances are being rewarded (and they appear to be from the last big games we've played), I'd hope and think that Poch wouldn't rotate.

I think Lamella could play a key part in this round.

And Harry’s job might be to occupy the cbs whilst sonny runs riot.

a great read

Via Nayim60yards on Coys...

This might help, it's from February 2017 and it's really long!!!!

Which having read it, made me think that we should go:-

Gone for a Hard Centre! esp for the first 60 -70 mins...Press the hell out of them and then hit em, after 70 mins when we want to stretch the game with pace and bring it after they get tired

That analysis is a bit outdated because it only focuses on 4231. Juventus have recently changed formation to 4-3-3, and it's most likely that they'll continue that formation in CL if the right players are available. That being said, I agree, I believe we must bring the battle to the midfield.

Been thinking about it, and I wouldn't be surprised if Pochettino replaces Son with Lamela for this one.

Son has played 3 in the last week and has just looked so slightly off it in the last couple of games, whereas Lamela was energetic, lively and had no small amount of quality when he came on against Arsenal.

Maybe. Or he does something different leaving them both out.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the same lineup again.

After tonight we play Rochdale on Sunday before Palace the following Monday night. Given that we'll play a fully rotated squad against Rochdale, anyone who plays tonight could have almost two weeks off. If Dembele, Davies and Trippier can play another game then I'd push that.

He's pretty much said when asked that he plans on sticking with the same system we've used over the last few games, so they won't be left out for that reason, and I doubt that Lucas will start in such a big game so soon after he's arrived.

I think it will be down to those two and, sigh, Sissoko, who he may like for his more physical presence against Juve.

I think 1) Pochettino would never discuss a possible surprise in the media. Hence the word surprise. 2) Forget about the general discussion about Sissoko, for this specific match, I believe Sissoko would be a very bad choice.

Tough to leave Son out, but the added defensive solidity could be crucial over two legs.

While I would normally have preferred Rose for a game like this, Ben Davies form makes it almost impossible to leave him out. On the opposite flank I think Auriers pace and power would be very useful against both Mandzukic and Alex Sandro.

Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Rose, Lamela. Moura, Son, Llorente

I'd start with that and then have the option to switch to a back 4, taking Dier off and bringing Son on in the later stages.
