Douglas Costa is unstoppable on his day. Trippier would've been worse imo. Maybe he wouldn't have conceded that penalty, but he would've lost more when facing him one on one

I don’t think Aurier can be rash in defence, offers much going forward his decision makings poor, crossings poor, I prefer Trippier his played well lately.

I think that Costa would have got more joy playing against Trippier. He’s a beast on the wing.

Since Aurier got a yellow card, he will not be playing the game at Wembley. Let's hope Trippier will be ready for Costa. He definitely sent a warning to the team today.

My ratings:

Eriksen and Dembele - 9

Kane, Dele, Lamela, Jan and Lloris - 8

The rest - 7

I liked that Kane was motivating the other players to keep going after Juve had scored the second goal.

Also, Dele might seem frustrating sometimes, but then he ends up being involved in the goals, so he must be doing something right.

Lloris would have been a 7, but he stood up for the second pen, which must have put of Higuain, who seemed less sharp in the second half. That was a key moment and Lloris kept us in the game, so I gave him an 8.

11 seconds against Utd

Errm..... I said slow starters in big AWAY games.

EDIT - Not sure why I got a "WTF!? rating" seeing as I had said that we started slowly in big AWAY games (we do!) and a poster quoted me and referred me to the United HOME game. Doh!

2nd EDIT - Oh, I see it is the same poster doing it to all the posts on this page ... is that allowed or is he fast tracking himself to a new level of membership?

Eriksen was metronomic. Closely followed by Moose (his 4th top game in a fortnight). Lamela was always showing for the ball, he is the epitome of a big game player. His sure comfort on the ball and aggression without, makes him a better option than Son in big away games.

Aurier was shocking. Tripps all day, a much greater offensive threat and defensively there’s little in it. Still think KWP is the better prospect for next season.

The strength of our bench is going to give us a great chance to rotate the players before the end of the year. To think that you could quite conceivably play Trippier, Toby, Lucas, Son, Winks, Rose or Wanyama and not weaken the team.....

Oddly enough, the OP briefly summarises what I came in to say:

I am happy overall about the result this evening. A fantastic comeback. I believe we could/should have won it.

Result aside, though, I now firmly believe we are at the table. We are a big club. Make no mistake. We haven't had a look at the menu, yet. But we are at the table.

If you asked Guardiola who was the team he'd least like to face in the league, it'd be us. Not Man Utd, not Liverpool, not Chelsea, not Arsenal. Us. Tonight's result had a surreal quality to it for me. It had that film-like narrative where the underdog is on the ropes, and there'll be a scene where something happens, that scene akin to Neo in the Matrix, where he holds out his hand and says, "No." when he sees the matrix. In Major League 2 where Rick Vaughn makes a comeback as Wild Thing, the bit where Bumblebee in Transformers upgrades himself into the newer Camaro, the bit where Johnny 5 patches himself up in the electrical store and even though he's leaking battery acid, continues on. Basically, the "shit just got real" moment. That was tonight for me. Odd analogies, I know.

We don't do rolling over any more. We haven't got a soft core. We've got a team of fucking warriors that do pour their everything into it for us. We need to pay a bit of it back. There is not a single player in our squad that is just merely towing the line. They're putting in their all. That's clear to see. They can't be a perfect 10 every game. As someone that used to play semi competitively, sometimes it's just difficult to get in the game properly. It happens. It's hard to say why sometimes.

It seems it's the David and Goliath moment. I think tonight was the power shift. Tonight convinced me.

If we make no silly mistakes, we'll do Juve at Wembley. And even if we don't, (because this is football) I'll be immensely proud of our players and our club. We are professional, classy and inspiring. We are super Tottenham from The Lane.

If the players are prepared for one more season, the one when we're back home, back at White Hart Fucking Lane, in our beautiful new home, and with maybe a little bit of Lady Luck, I believe we'll win the league next season. What a fitting tribute it would be for the players, Poch and Levy. An absolute fairytale. It would transcend reality and would forever go down in the annals of history as one of the great moments.

Plus, we deserve it. We really do.

If I were a player, I'd check the fan forums all the time. And I'd be utterly disheartened at some of the insanely basic, moronic, dumb, knee jerk fucking reactions from some of our "fans".
Show them a bit of fucking respect. They've earned it. Trophy or not.

Dembele MOM. Eriksen a very close second.

Everyone else, good.

Well done, lads. That could have been much worse, but the amount of character and guts on display this evening was clearly evident.

Can’t believe how we dominated them for 70-80minutes. This is a team 2x CL finalists in last 3 years and only conceded 1 goal in last 16 games! The spirit and resolve to come back to 2-2 after such a shocking start is so commendable, will give the group so much belief.

Lloris 8 - a number of good saves and couldn’t do much with their goals

Aurier 5 - so disappointed with the penalty he gave away, I thought he’d stopped doing that but that aside not a bad game, Costa is some winger!

Sanchez 6 did pretty well

Jan 7 very dominant he’s just on fire this season! #levels

Davies 6 - a bit unlucky with the pen but decent game

Dier 7 very solid good on and off the ball

Dembele 7 another good performance

Lamela 6 decent showing

Eriksen 8 MOTM brilliant from him, bossed the ball, great free kick and one of his best games, really upped his level

Dele 7 one of his better games

Kane 7 great goal and standard good all round performance

Tactics were pretty much spot on just a really poor start. Poor switching off from Dele for the first goal and poor organisation all round just a sloppy start, most disappointing thing was Aurier giving away that penalty as that was so rash.
Anyway brilliant game and great comeback and performance.

Bring on the 2nd leg!

Dude, Dembele 7? Eriksen 8? Did you watch the game? Both were 9s. If they played for Juve people would have got full on erections.

Is this a windup?
Really surprised with the ratings and comments. It was a pretty positive review and ratings barring Aurier. They’d have all got a point higher if we’d not started so poorly but that was a whole team thing not being switched on for the first 10 Mins.

So 9 is so much different from an 8 is it lol? Some of you on here are pretty weird.
Dembele mabye was an 8 but Juve sat off so much so he had more time than usual. I thought he was a 9 against Man.U and a 7 or 8 tonight all of which are very high scores.

On a day of 3 bad errors, I'm going to give the whole team 8s bar Eriksen and Dembele.

The whole team picked themselves up and all took Juve on a ride. Even Aurier and Davies picked themselves up. They could have so easily just thrown in the towel, but they didn't. They did their job.

Dembele and Eriksen ... Just immense. Dembele owned Juve. Eriksen just ruined them with his creativity and keeping the ball moving.

Dembele MotM, but only just cos he took the game by the scruff of the neck and gave us belief. There were 1 or 2 marauding runs after 2-0 which then seemed to awaken Eriksen and then we just took over.

Moura looked good. Very direct. I like direct. It scares defenders.

Juventus sat off a lot, I gave him a 9 against Man.U last weekend, he was very good a 7 is well above average lol wtf chill out.

Actually I think you will find in modern parlance on a scale of 1-10 scores officially start at 5. 7 is bang average. 1-4 = lol.

Dont blame me, I dont make these stupid rules up.

Lloris 7- Thought he had a good calm game, only a minor error on the first penalty for me. Maybe could have got to that one.

Aurier 5- Headless chicken and not much good attacking stuff to compensate. Did get slightly better towards the latter stages at least.

Sanchez 6- OK but quite a few dodgy moments.

Verts 7- Not his best game but still fine, one good interception from that cross from the left.

Davies 6- Daft for the pen but did improve. Fought.

Dembele 9.5- He looked like the best midfielder in the world tonight. Brilliant winning the midfield battles then just gliding through with ease to lay off sensible or penetrative passes.

Dier 6- Meh. Wouldn't say he was terrible but some complete dross giving the ball away very cheaply. Mostly just put a reasonable shift in playing simple passes.

Eriksen 9- Excellent. Made their defence look no better than your average side.

Lamela 7- Great shift in as usual, showed the fight required.

Dele 8- Thought he was excellent and always a danger. He's cutting out the silly stuff and that's great to see. Did tire towards the end perhaps understandably.

Kane 7.5- Good. Missed a sitter but stepped up when it mattered again. A nuisance.

Lol it seems so mate.
Here was me thinking 5 was average, I better change my ratings up by 2 pts each, so if I think someone is an 8 or 9 what I really mean is 10 or 11
