Haven’t seen any of the match as I was otherwise engaged tonight. But I was checking the scores, at 2-0 I thought it was going to be like Inter away in 2010. We are a much better side than that now imo, so much steel, so much grit.

Sounds like it was a wonderful performance, can’t wait to watch the recording.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino on BT Sport: “Fantastic game. We were sloppy and conceded two goals in nine minutes, but the character we showed was fantastic. I want to congratulate the players - 2-0 down in Turin to a team so difficult to break down. We deserved a victory more than a draw.

“We are more mature now. In the last few weeks, the team are growing and have stepped up. It’s a good example of the capacity we have.

The team was amazing in how they reacted.

“You need some luck always in football. The tie is open, Juventus are a massive team. We have the hope we can win in Wembley.”
score a goal and tighten those nuts at the rear entrance and they’ll find it hard to stay in

I think there needs to be an investigation as to why we were given an 8:00pm KO when Juve were given a 7:45 that's just not on.:pompous:

Having looked at the replay several times I'm not sure what Davies could have done otherwise - other than completely cede possession in the box to the outside player. Better awareness maybe but I didn't think he made a howler at all. And then went on to play a good game.

Card was ridiculous.

He was 10 minutes off the pace at the start. Love the lad but there were a few bits of ultra slow play at the start, including the pen. Lad stuck in there though and that says more.

I came out of the thread at the start of the 2nd half.

So much negativity - again - I received another disagree (not that I care any more) for saying it was 'no disgrace' to be losing
2-0 to Juve.

The dislikes and neg ratings were flourishing like nobody's business. Twerps.

Sorry that’s bollocks. Sure in general, it’s no disgrace, but the way the game had played out was terrible. We were awful first 15 mins and deserved all the shit thrown our way. Juve didn’t even need to be good.

Makes the comeback all the more worthwhile. And we were fantastic. But this ridiculous rewriting of the start of the game needs to cease. Just because some were rightfully displeased with how we started that game, a certain subset of fans think they can Lord it. I fucking hate football fans, Spurs or otherwise. At least 50% are total dicks

An excellent recovery from such adversity, many teams would have folded but we are made of sterner stuff than that. If there is one word of caution, Aurier and our coaching staff have got to realise that he cannot and should not be allowed to put in daft lunging challenges like that against top teams in the penalty area, he and they must know what it will lead to and Aurier clearly knows where he is when he is doing this, it was an indentical challege that led to a penalty in Madrid earlier this season, once is bad enough but to repeat the same mistake is plain stupidity and asking for trouble, eventually it's going to cost us especially against top quality opposition in the knock out stages. There are only so many times you will get away with it.

Back to the positives, we've given ourselves a great chance so let's seize the moment, but FFS we must learn from these errors. COYS !!!
I think it's his desire to win every ball that he thinks he can get. But yes, the coaches need to do some work with him. Tell him it's fine if it's outside the penalty area and to break down an attack but not in the penalty area. They need to work on his positioning because he can help himself a lot by just making sure he isn't caught out.

One thing I'd say is if he hadn't have done that today then Costa may have gone on to score. He's lucky it wasn't closer to goal and a clear goalscoring opportunity.

i would have taken a 2-2 draw before the game - brilliant result.. but at the same time i feel we should have won that. We are that good at the moment. I love this team.
For ten long minutes we thought we should be out of our depth. That’s all it was.

For the return leg, replace Sanchez with Toby, Dier with Wanyama and Davies with Rose. If Dybala plays then we will have to compress space to deny him opportunities to take a shot or run at the defence. I don't think that we should go three at the back, because Sanchez is starting to get panicky in big situations.

I'm not sure if that's true....a savvier team would have taken the sting out of the game after going 2-0 up.

I thought that we let the occasion get to us and didn't do our jobs in the first 10 minutes.

Hugo looked like he was about to burst into tears and wanted to run back to mummy when shaking Buffon's hand pre-kick off, contrast that with Buffon who was so relaxed and smiling...I think that was reflected in how both teams started the match.
That's the first time I've heard anyone say that there are savvier teams than Juventus, a team that hadn't let in a goal in fifteen games; but do carry on.

Don't worry, @davidmatzdorf, I wasn't referring to you and I've added a caveat now. It's like saying that Brexiteers are xenophobic bigots, when clearly there are a few who aren't.

Well, I must say that after the first 10 minutes I feared we were going to get thrashed good and proper. But the team knuckled down and slowly got back into the game, to the point where they were starting to suffocate Juve. They showed tonight that they do have the bottle to come back from being down against a top team. They've grown as a group and it can only bode well for the rest of this season and beyond.

#COYS!

Did I rewrite the start of the game ?

Did I Lord it ?

The comeback for the draw was one of the best displays of commitment and skills I have seen in 50 years of watching but I didn't turn any displeasure of mine into a slagging of the players in the pitch at any point.

Constructive criticism is good but vitriolic and obscene rantings are quite horrid and very not nice.(sic)

not sure what I just watched. A diabolical 10 minutes of defending followed by the bravest effort I can recall from our side.

I like our chances in the return fixture.

Overall, the team did bloody well, and to come back from 2 down to Juve, with their home record was brilliant. We could have won the game with the chances we had.

That said it really does piss me off with the constant slow starts and the tippy-tappy shit amongst the back 3 / 4. If we could eliminate that stuff we could challenging Citeh ..... next season!
