I made no comment on who he played, just pointed out that not all premier league teams are equal in response to the person who said "they are all premier league games". I'm actually a Trippier fan.

Apologies, thought you were the person who asked the original question.

Every fullback under poch gets transformed. Already decent in his first season, i envision him eclipsing walker's best by the third

Talented, but a fucking idiot/liability.

I do not think this can be coached out of him (and didn't before he arrived here, as he's always been like this), for us we now have West Ham, Apoel, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Faster than Trippier, yes, but not as good a footballer and, well I'm trying to think of a better word than stupid, but just stupid.

There's a good player in there, but he's an idiot.

Fairly confident that a few years with Poch and he'll iron the kinks in his game out but I really don't understand what goes through his head when he goes to ground like he does

If you think he's going to remain at this level playing under a coach who is renowned for improving players expecially full backs then I'm sorry but you're clueless.

Yesterdays tackle was very frustrating, seeing as he had made up quite a few yards, and had actually gotten body contact with Costa which would have slowed him down, and all that remained was to lead him down to the byline. He actually had that situation sorted before going insane.

Nevertheless, I trust Poch to coach this stuff out of him. Wanyama was diving in all over the shop when he was at Soton, but is generally a steady Eddie these days.

Guy been here few months FFS, and he is shit already. I remember Walker & Danny Rose at the onset. I remember the slagging off they were getting. I also remember a certain Harry Kane, and the stick he got when he played early doors, in place of the more established. Few wanted him shipped.

I refer to it as a lack of football intelligence. We saw that in Walker too.

Exactly, a mere 18 starts in a new team under a new manager who excells at defensive coaching.

To say he will always be shit, will never change or needs to be sold in the summer is fool hardy indeed. Considering that Poch is a total sorcerer

He needs to learn and learn quickly. He has a worrying habit of making the same mistakes.

I'm prepared to give the lad a chance, like a season etc... but damn, doesn't make watching him slide in the box any easier

Poch coached a lot of it out of Walker (not all of it, admittedly). I have no doubt in my mind that he'll be great in the coming seasons. Still makes what he did yesterday inexcusable (especially as he's done it before).

It's not about his ability, it's the decisions he makes, it's his head, not his feet (although I think he's not especially good on the ball). The only person coaching that out of him is a psychiatrist IMO.

He could actually see the ball to the right of his body and still swung his leg to the left, it was completely stupid and he was lucky the penalty was missed. I don't know what some of you see in him other than the fact he's not Trippier and 'faster'.

I can only imagine the reaction if Tripps gave away a penalty in a similar situation.

Fans should be very careful when they rate players. Last month I basically said Aurier is better than Trippier. After 4 games I want to say it's the other way round. Aurier still has to learn a lot but he will IMO. He showed potentiall and Poch is fullback magician. It's interesting to see what will happen with Trippier. I thought he reached his sealing but his last 3 games was probably the best in his career.

I like Serge, I like his aggression and he has a bit of nastiness to him which we need. He does need to smarten up though, and he hasn’t looked as quick as I thought he would be but I still feel he has a higher ceiling than Trippier. Give him a full pre-season with the full back whisperer before passing judgement

I admire everyone's faith in Poch, but just because he turned Walker into a half decent defender, it doesn't necessarily follow that he can do the same with Aurier. Every player is different.

Besides, how difficult is it for him to grasp the idea that he should stay on his feet and stop diving in. He's done it more than once, sometimes more than once in the same game (Brighton at home, for example).

Walker
Trippier
Davies
Rose
Shaw
Clyne

Pretty sure the odds are more than stacked in his favour.

If Aurier is willing to get his head down and put the work in, he will improve, it's not science but like with all players these things take time, people just need to be patient.
