It cant keep going up. Even if it stays flat, its still a shit load of money and makes us by far the richest league.
Also the last deal was falsely inflated by BT Sport coming in and ruffling Sky's feathers. Both both of them realised they couldn't afford to do that again. Just wasn't sustainable.

Worse both bt and sky have lost a lot of subscribers since the last deal. At one point they were both down by 19%. It has recovered a bit but i think they have realised that (as you say) it was overpriced.

And therein lies the problem for Levy - convincing a sponsor that it won't be "The Lane"

Nobody wants to wants to pay out 20M year only for people to ignore the name...

I still don't understand why we don't name it 'Sponsor at White Hart Lane'.

The FedEx Stadium at White Hart Lane. Wouldn't most fans appreciate the gesture and wouldn't most companies want to associate themselves with that kind of heritage?

People are paying big bucks they wanna make sure their name isn’t clipped off. That’ll be shortened to ‘The Lane’. Even ‘White Hart’ would be lucky to get a mention.

Ooh - off to the webcams and ssc thread for an hour to see if I can see what’s going on with the lift preliminaries.

I thought I heard it would start next week?

IIRC it would take a week or two to connect all of the cables and lift itself would take 2 - 3 weeks, presumably depending on the weather - maybe strong wind would be an issue?

What i'd like to hear is something the wall of fans sing, that the, rest of the stadium can sing back to. Like how it used to be. That'd be funny and awesome!!

Quite a few seats going in!

Not really sure how they are arranging them? Maybe in the shape of THFC
