I struggle to think of a better midfield performance over the years than the masterclass Dembele produced last night. Magnificent.

This is the only negative from an absolutely wonderful game. But I feel really sorry for Tripps actually. He gets a really bad rap, but this month he has been excellent, and he’s getting dropped for the prestige games for... this guy?

I understand the need to rotate, but there is no way that Aurier should be first choice from what we’ve seen so far.

Aurier was picked because of his pace to match Costa.

I haven’t seen the game but it’s exciting reading about it from everyone here, and particularly about Dembélé, who I have of course been watching in the Prem. Anyone know how I can watch the Juve game in Australia? Don’t think SBS had even CL highlights. Thanks.

The lack of patience in respect of Sanchez and Aurier (and probably Dele) on this forum concerns me. The former is quite clearly a world class prospect for his age and last time I checked played in all of this run of games and all of our key CL games. Pace in behind is probably Toby and Jan's only weakness and he clearly helps on that front. Aurier again has great physical attributes and has shown good link up play. I still think we could see a transformation next season under the full back whisperer himself. Tripps is in much better form right now but it's hard to deny he was below par for a lot of the season.

We have gained a lot of fickleness in here along with our growth under Poch, over emphasising on bad play and letting that cloud judgement of the good play. Just remember some of the dross that have worn that shirt in the PL era. Night and day.

They've all made big game mistakes but so have senior players like Lloris and Dier on numerous occasions.

As for the game, what a spectacle. Great show of guts and we really did outclass them. Eriksen and Dembele 10/10 for me. Great call from Poch on Lamela too, his and Dele's work rate gave the two MOTMs the platform to dictate.

Serge Aurier

I knew way before that he is a liability and accident waiting to happen...upgrade on Walker? LOL

Just like i was right on the two N'somethings

Just like I was right on the two lightweights Pritchard & Carroll
Can you do the lottery for me?

Aurier was nowhere near as bad as some of you miserable weirdos are making out.

Trippier deserves first choice atm, but he’d have struggled against Costa’s pace and trickery. Aurier got beat once or twice and gave a pen away. Bernadeschi had 2/3 chances cutting in on Davies’ side and Davies gave a pen - but Aurier is a liability because he’s new and this forum is full of “yer da”s
I find it absolutely astonishing that people don't understand this.

The rest is also all true btw.

If Costa regularly played on the left you might have a valid point, but he doesn't, Manzdukic does, always. Costa, when he comes on or starts can drift either side, so you could argue just as strong a case for Rose to play as well. But he didn't. So the logic which might apply is a bit flawed.

Had Rose in my team to start.

Either way, this was not the game for Tripps.
