At what point does the sum of this team's parts eclipse the sums paid for it and get judged on its quality now, rather than what was spent years ago?
This is the part that always entertains me as it changes every week.

One man team we'd be nothing without Kane.
Eriksen is world class we'd be lost without him.
Alli is easily worth £150m we'd be lost without him.
Dembelle is one of the best midfielders in the world we'd be nothing without him.
Son is tearing it up this season we'd be nothing without him.
Toby is the best CB in the league and needs a new contract we'd be nothing without him.
Jan is incredible we'd be nothing without him.
Walker & Rose were the best full back in the league last year we'd be nothing without them

When will the media realise we're not just a group of individuals (Utd / Liverpool) but a quality team who's styles compliment each other perfectly.

Indeed. But then we need to win something. That’s the other side of that coin

Alan Brazil, Talk sport, this morning.
With Ginola as well and DG didnt say do one, he said yes it'll be interesting to see what happens in the summer!!!
He should have said 'ffs man are you gonna suggest Kane leave every single fkin time he scores a goal? Spurs are moving into a new stadium you twat.Do you really think Kane is a) going to want to go and b) Levy will sell him while thats happening?
Change the record ffs....

Twat.'

I can’t listen to that drunk old bastard anymore. Everything that comes out of his mouth about Tottenham is so negative. He comes across as if has a real deep hatred of Tottenham. He has literally nothing positive to say ever.
It’s the same with most of the media.
If we win....
It’s Pochettino/Kane/etc will leave to win trophies/more money.
If we lose...
It’s Pochettino/Kane/etc will leave to win trophies/more money.
Really struggle to understand why they’ll always try to find a negative angle with Tottenham.

If we get CL qualification next year then I am pretty confident we won’t lose any of the key players. However, Kane now has a taste of CL knockout footy and seeing his name up there with likes of Ronaldo, Messi etc in the goal scoring stats might mean he is not prepared to miss out on it again. I think Kane loves spurs but we have to be able to give him the platform he deserves.

To be fair, any pundit could say that (and they generally all do). Which one was it this time?

I typed in Juventus vs Tottenham and watched a couple of channels' analysis.

One had Harry Redknapp on it (not sure which... Had a 3 in it). Never seen him so complimentary. Was saying players should stay, we're a massive club. Why would anyone wanna go elsewhere? Was also very adamant Kane will stay.

He was really behind us. Was refreshing. Everyone else I've seen says Kane will & should leave if/when Madrid come calling

The varying strands of our media have become an echo chamber where Spurs are concerned. The press and those phone-ins which target the lowest common denominator started focusing on our team being broken up because transfer gossip and instability is what sells in that market (because 99% of rival fans like the idea that we’ll lose our biggest assets). Then, because that was being so frequently discussed, that became the headline so other, more respected strands of media eventually followed suit.

The tabloids, Talksport and Sky etc all exist in their own bubble so they all just regurgitate what each other are discussing and so we’ve reached the stage where those individuals who are most entrenched in that bubble (Alan Brazil and Neil Ashton being prime examples) literally cannot think of anything else to say in relation to us. Ultimately these types will always say what they think the majority of their audience want to hear, and the number of rival fans who want to hear that Harry Kane might leave greatly outnumber us Spurs fans so they’ll continue to peddle the same rhetoric.

The thing that annoys me the most is while most pundits are saying we did well, they struggle to acknowledge their 1st goal was offside.

Agree 100%. Any time we beat a 'big' team, that team were always 'under par' or 'not at the races' or 'had an off day'.

We rarely get enough credit.

Funnily enough on ‘The Debate’ last night the presenter Kelly Cates said something. Along the lines of “yes they beat Madrid, but we know they are going though a bad patch and not the same as last season”
I mean WTF?? Just before we played them they were being courted as the best team in Europe and we’re going to sweep everyone aside. Ffs.

So an offside goal should not be mentioned anywhere?
It's all over twitter, it was mentioned in the post game analysis.

Mistakes happen, it's part of what makes football - the constant focus on anything not 100% perfect is dull (for me, obviously others disagree). Sometimes it works for you, sometimes it doesn't but making these mistakes the main focus is missing the point. Pundits now spend more time talking about refereeing decisions than the actual game - dull.

It's also a get out of jail for teams like Liverpool whenever things don't go their way - it was the ref, it's not fair blah blah blah. Liverpool are now more "Spursy" than we ever were - let's not take up their victim mantle to even things out.

Sorry - bit of a rant but (as you can see) it really irritates me.

Which is as it should be - let's not be Liverpool please!
I was thinking of the comparison between that goal and the Liverpool pen decision.
Juves goal.
Definite offside.
Goal stood.
No media attention at all.
Poch doesn't mention it.
Players don't mention it.
Level of importance in match- massive.
Liverpool pen.
Debatable decision at best.
No goal scored anyway.
Media shit storm batters the UK for 5 days and nights.
Klopp foaming at the mouth like they only got a draw because we were awarded a pen, a pen we didn't bloody score.
Players and fans spouting shit to all who'll listen until after 5 days Shit Storm Klopp finally disipates somewhere over the Atlantic.
Importance of decision on game and result- fkin none whatsoever.

Personally I think we could do with kicking up a shit storm ourselves every now and then.

I don't want any of these stupid things the Cyclops and the Maureens are best at. My Spurs will always be a dignified club managed by dignified men.

What really irked me about this one was it was not exactly hard to spot, good 2ft offside, and its on the same side as the linesman!!!
Seriously wtf was he looking at?
Not like he was running to keep up with play, it was a bloody freekick!
If he cant get that right then there was no point in him being there and he might as well fk off.
And yes it was mentioned but thats where it ended.
I guarantee you if that happens to any of the other big clubs it gets a full public enquiry and a 7 day media shit storm.

I dont get on twitter. I could say "it is for twits" but i wont.

I live in Australia (a country that calls football soccer) and all my mates are saying spurs got lucky.

I reply with "their 1st goal was offside" and they say that is just sour grapes as no media is reporting that and they didn't watch the game.

Pisses me off.

Rant over.

He usually has good words for us to be fair.
