In all fairness, he left Southhampton for us so I think he is a career mananger i.e. trophies.

I have no doubt he could leave us for Paris or Real Madrid.

Up to Daniel now

How is it up to Daniel? You said above you doubt he would turn PSG etc down. If that's the case, it doesn't matter how much we pay him.

Didn't Poch say he would like a ten year contract offer from Levy? Doesn't sound like a man who is ready to jump ship yet.

The time for Poch to leave isn't now, in the future yes but not now.

Why in the future?

And the longer he is away from Argentina, the less chance of him taking that job as he'll be too detached from what's going on there.
I think Argentina is very much in his heart, I don't think he would go unless he is satisfied that we've achieved all the success we can.
I so hope you are right.

Poch is the best thing to happen to Spurs in the last 30 years (with Kane).

However we still cant compete with the money clubs in England so I will not excuse him if he goes to Madrid or Paris.

Let's hope he stays.

We are competing though, we've qualified for the CL twice in a row as a club with the 6th best finances. The next challenge is winning trophies.

PSG and Madrid will pay him a lot of money but he might not even last a season. His relationship with Levy is great he goes to those other clubs they want instant success and the player power is overbearing. He isn't a guy who chases money, he is an honorable guy.

You think Poch will retire as a Spurs manager?

Personally I think he'll either end up as Argentina Coach or go back to Newells Old Boys.

I'd love it if poch retired as a spurs manager.
Obviously almost zero chance but if we keep on improving why couldn't he be our alex fergusson or bill nick mark 2?
We'll see. He might join madrid in the summer or have a terrible season next year. But there is the hope that he doesn't. That we are on the verge of becoming a truly big club and win a shed load of trophies.

Fair enough.

However, do you really think he will stay with us if Real Madrid or PSG come calling?

I personally doubt it.

Well, yeah - that's why I said it.

Just look at what his players say. Hugo Lloris gave an interview in the summer stating that he is personally connected to Poch and as long as Poch is at Spurs he will be. Harry Kane recently confirmed that he expects Poch to be at the club long term. Eriksen gave an interview a couple of days ago where he says that he sees no signs of Pochettino wanting to be anywhere but Tottenham for the long term. Intrinsic to Poch's methodology and desired outcomes is the forging of a squad who are keyed into one another and cognisant of several systems so they can switch from one to another seamlessly, fully committed to the club they are at, and fully committed to their team-mates, who are their mates, to the point of being prepared to run through walls for one another. We are beginning to see that now. I doubt he would get time to achieve this at a RM or PSG. And he is a clever man - I think he knows where and what he would be allowed to achieve what. And RM, IMHO, would be a horrible fit for him. PSG, too, up to a point. The fact that RM are clearly interested and the media are pursuing their own agenda doesn't alter this at all. The more information you have the more prescient your answer becomes.

The reason i said it is up to Daniel, is we need to make it worth Poch staying.

We won't win the trophies of Paris. They have a mortgage on the french title.

Hence we need to give a transfer budget he needs to be a trophy winning team in England.

We are so close.

One very recent clue that happened yesterday that he is at least staying next season is that he offered to take Mason on the coaching staff. He is such an honourable man that he won't make such an empty promise should he be eyeing his way out.

Dunno we've done it for a few of our players. Helping them get coaching badges etc...
Wasn't mcdermott a spurs youth who had a career ending injury? We helped him get his sports science degree. Or am i miss remembering?

Sorry i used the word "daniel" to mean our financial situation.

He makes the decisions.

Sorry, but some of our fans confuse the two and can't understand why we can't match the spending of some of the bigger clubs.
Hopefully with the new stadium and a possible naming rights our financial burden will ease somewhat. Although our turnover will still be closer to huddersfields than utds.

it wont be about money. we could double his salary to 11 million pounds a year and it wouldnt hurt the clubs bottom line.

We possibly could. But could we do that while also giving kane, toby, eriksen etc... payrises?
Also you have to remember premier league financial fair play rules regarding increased wages.

I read in the past that he would like to go back and manage Newals Old Boys and the National team but I suspect PSG would be in there too, however I doubt he will stay at a club until he wins what he thinks quantifies success for as long as it takes though. Theres only so many years one can keep trying as said team's manager before realizing its just not going to happen and move on. Plus theres bound to be a point where he'll be swayed by other suitors with deeper pockets.

His philosophy is hard work and togetherness. Being an intelligent man, he'll see that he can't get those two ingredients in any mega-bucks team and his name will be dragged down a team of prima donas. That's why I think he would not lightly accept to manage the money teams owned by whimsical playboys.

ya but our revenue is over 200 million a year now so a 5 million raise represent less than a 2.5% of revenue and we will make more CL money and significantly more with the new stadium. We will never be Manchester City but an extra 5 million a year just wont be that much in the coming years.
