People said they were worried about Trippier's pace against Sanchez, Mane, Ronaldo etc....

Truth is if we defend properly as a team we can handle Costa.

Watching our game against Juve (apparently the best defensive team in Europe) and now Madrid against PSG, Toby could prob get himself a salary of 200k a week.

However so could Jan.

So many ordinary defenders in the world.

Getting Toby back for the 2 leg could be the decider to if we beat Juve or not. As much as I like Sanchez he’s not ready for these games yet and when him, Dier and Aurier have the ball im worried.

I've accepted he's leaving. He would've signed by now if he was going to. Whatever we offer him someone else will double it.

It’s a shame because before he came to us his career had stalled massively that he would’ve been battling a top 10 finish with saints the last few years.

I’m still hoping he’ll sign again and we’ll get the same we are getting from Verts

that article says 27 is peak age for Strikers. Kane still only 24.

When opposition CBs realise that Kane hasn't even turned Super Saiyan yet.

The issue isn't when his current deal ends, the issue is that if we activate the 1 year extension option to take it to 2020, that also activates a 25m buy-out clause, so activating the extension would effectively be like agreeing to sell him for 25m. We want him to sign a new contract that doesn't have a buyout clause but he wants it left in. At least that's what seems to be the general consensus based on the posts on here.

Is there any reliable source or evidence that states that he has this extension and buy out clause or is it just media mambo jambo?

If that mail story is true then I can't believe we haven't snapped his hand off for it. I know 110k is a lot of money but when VVD and Walker are earning double that it kinda puts it into perspective

I don't think anyone knows what will happen at the moment so I definitely wouldn't believe a word I read in the papers. Anything they report is pretty much guesswork.

It doesn't say hes asking for £110k a week.

Don’t want him to go and to be honest without a silly offer he won’t be going this summer in Levy’s head. We do have cover for RCB in Sanchez and Foyth. LCB is more worrying as Jan only has 12 months left in the summer and no real cover for him

I would say Vertonghen is the most urgent !! Having an unbelievable season.

Losing Toby isn’t really a big deal, he’s not actually that key to our success. We’ve done perfectly well without and barring a few lapses in concentration Sanchez has on the whole being excellent. Jan is by far our star performing centre back. Losing Toby is no different to losing Walker and Rose to injury, we all panicked... what we going to do, we’re buggered. Yet Trippier and Davies both stepped up and saw us to our highest premier league finish. The only positions we have suffered or could suffer from are goalkeeper, central midfield/creativity and striker. Losing Lloris long term = no quality cover. We’ve struggled in Wanyama’s absence with Dier being hit and miss. Demblele’s fitness issues and Winks forever injured have left us really short in centre midfield. Whereas no Eriksen has had us in the shit and losing Kane would be a disaster as there’s zero cover.

Sorry, can't agree. Whilst maybe not key to our success, losing one of the best CBs in the league cannot, nor should not, be deemed as anything else other than a huge blow.
