I think Bernardo Silva and Malcom are very similar players.

View attachment 35921

They really aren’t. Malcom is more zippy and direct, Silva is more jinky and subtle.

If I had to guess why Malcolm’s stats look a bit sexier than Silva’s last year I’d say it maybe because Malcom is the main man at an underperforming Bordeaux where Silva was one of several talented players at Monaco last year who shared the game around (Moutinho, Lemar, Mbappe, Falcao etc) but that could be wrong and Malcom is just a highly productive fucker full stop.

I like Malcom, I think he was one of the first players I flagged up this year in Ligue1, and was possibly the first on here to flag him up?

But I can’t see us going for him now we’ve bought Moura. I know they are left (Malcom) and right footed and slightly different but even playing 4231 we’d have Lamela/Son/Moura/Malcom (Sissoko) fighting for one spot?

It would be 6 players for 3 spots.

I think next summer we will let go Sissoko, Janssen, Llorente and Nkoudou . We will have Kane, Son, Ali, Lamela, Eriksen and Moura - Total 6 players for front 4 position in a 4231 formation. We need one more player who can play as a cm or as an am - And I think we will go for someone like maddison instead of malcom specially after the arrival of moura. Also Sessognen is a must as he can play multiple position as well. Add onomah, edwards into the mix and we are good to go

I think it would be fair to call Lamela and Hazard playmakers. Position is irrelevant. Eriksen started from the left for us in the past, does that mean he wasn't a playmaker?

I never said Eriksen is not a playmaker. But he played/plays much more central than Malcom does.
Position is relevant though - which is why most, if not, all top-notch playmakers in the past and present play/played centrally in midfield.
PS! Yes, you will of course have exceptions - like Cruijff who was a CF yet playmaker. And one may even call Beckenbauer a kind of playmaker as well.

Tottenham, Everton tracking PSV Eindhoven's Steven Bergwijn - sources

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are among a host of Premier League clubs tracking PSV Eindhoven star Steven Bergwijn, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

A number of Europe's top clubs have been alerted to Bergwijn's potential with the attacker scoring five goals and creating six assists in 22 games to help the club go seven points clear at the top of the Eredivisie.

Sources have told ESPN FC that PSV are bracing themselves for offers for Bergwijn this summer with the Premier League looking likely to be the winger's next destination.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add to his attacking options as he looks to build a side capable of challenging for the Premier League title next term.

They have held a long-term interest in Bergwijn, 20, and they have enjoyed success in the past when raiding the Dutch market, having signed the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and Davinson Sanchez from Ajax.

If we're going to get another forward I wonder if we could tempt Everton with a big bid for Lookman?

I think Fekir, Frenkie de Jong and Sessegnon would round off the squad very nicely.

Not that avid a follower of Lyon, though I like a lot of its players. Would Fekir go for an absolute shit-tonne of cash?

But one of them is Eriksen and Pochettino never drops Alli, no matter how he plays.

Eriksen and Alli can drop to CM in certain games. Besides it's all about depth, not about the starting 11. You have Eriksen-Alli-Son playing on Sunday, and Lamela-Moura-Malcom playing midweek. Son can also be the striker. We could also play without a striker and Alli as a false #9

Fekir would be ideal, it's crazy he could theoretically be our Kane, Eriksen and at a not so far stretch a dembele backup. I would love it if we just go all in on him.

Fancy he'd be in the same range as Lacazette.

I would be very surprised if Fekir is not (far) beyond Spurs' budget - and I am not just talking about his eventual transfer fee (if Leverkusen wants £100M for Bailey then imagine what Fekir will cost) but also his salary.
Besides, Spurs got Eriksen who can play more or less the same role so I cannot see why Spurs would break the bank for him.

Im not so sure about Fekir's transfer fee would be an issue. He only has 2 more years left on his deal and is 4 years older than Bailey who just signed for Leverkusen. Nabil's wages would be a concern. But he'd be worth the plunge because of his quality and versatility.

I'm almost certainly going to be alone here but if he's fairly cheap, I'd love to see what Poch could do with Renato Sanches. Potential future Dembele replacement if it worked.

Strange situation for Sanches... big money signing for Bayern, loaned out to get experience but for some random reason went to Swansea whom granted ‘played’ a passing/possession brand of football last season only for them to look damn right awful for the best of this season, with Sanches looking nothing special. To put it bluntly his loan spell has been nothing short of a disaster. It certainly doesn’t mean he’s crap but it hasn’t done him any favours in terms of securing a future move to the premier league. With him struggling to nail down a place at Swansea it’s been very difficult to judge where he’d fit in, say with us.
