Trophies will always be an important part of football, but the sense of a team progressing is paramount both on the terraces and at board level. In this regard Pochettino is delivering in spades, which is why most Spurs fans find the idea that their manager has anything to prove tedious at best and laughable at worst.

I think it's laughable that a manager shouldn't have things left to prove when no trophies are yet won. I fully believe he can do it, in fact I very much expect that he will win trophies with Spurs, but he has stuff left to prove still. He is an evolving manager, not the finished product.

Hopefully one day Poch will be up there with the greats such as Roberto Di Matteo, Brian Laudrup and Steve McClaren.
