Once we move to the new statdium not only players will not want to leave. The iconic stadium will become an attraction for players.
That with the addition of the best training facilities and coaching staff in the Uk/Europe.
cant wait COYS!!!!!

In all this negativity i would say that for quite a while now we have had great reviews from the people on the guardian football weekly podcast and The Totally football show. James Horncastle was saying some great things and Jonathan Wilson as well who is usually a highly negative person at times. In the alternative media so basically not crappy sky sports and click bait The Mirror , Spurs have been highly spoken of and it was even stated that PSG and Madrid should have been playing football like Spurs have.

Is the right answer but some posters on here love to wallow in being a victim. This forum is getting like RAWK, this thread is the kind of thing we used to link to over there and laugh at.

EVERY club is a selling club.

Man Utd sold Ronaldo to Real Madrid
Liverpool sold players to Barca, City
Barca sold Neymar to PSG
Spurs sold players to Real Madrid
Arsenal sold players to City, Utd
Chelsea sold players to Atletico, Utd

The only teams I feel like haven't really been selling is City and PSG and that's only really cos they have so much more money than anyone else but make no mistake, Real Madrid apparently want Neymar and City will eventually lose players as well.

Players hold the cards. If they kick up enough of a stink and decide they want to go then eventually the club has to let them go.

I agree that the media seem to have an obsession with us selling our best players but it's only cos we have some absolutely brilliant players and the media love a big money transfer. It's a boring, repetitive story but it will continue for a long time, at least until we win something and ya know what, even if we won the Champions League this season, first thing the media would do is say well, Real Madrid and PSG are surely going to come in hard for Pochettino now.

There's no escaping it kids, all you can do is try to ignore it.

The stupid thing is, in this "article" Stevie G doesn't say sign Wanyama. It says this:

Steven Gerrard says Liverpool should sign Tottenham star Victor Wanyama.

Reds coach Gerrard reckons Jurgen Klopp's side need a midfield enforcer to protect their shaky back four.

And the former England star says Tottenham midfielder Wanyama would be the ideal addition for the Reds this summer.

“I think Liverpool would benefit from a monster of a centre-midfielder, a holder,” Gerrard said.

“A Wanyama-type player who does sit in and is disciplined, and he would give more protection to the back four.”

Absolute terrible reporting.

The reporting is ok enough, but the the headline writer’s job is to maximise clicks. By mentioning Wanyama personally, they get every Spurs fan, as well as every Liverpool fan to click on the article. Basic stuff. Just as, every time we play one of the other big clubs, stories are guaranteed to appear about players from one wanting to join the other. Clickbait.

I love Merson's predictions on who will win the Golden Boot. His pick is Aguero - nothing wrong with that, but his reasoning gave me a laugh:

Paul Merson said:
I know Aguero won't be playing as many minutes as the others with the Champions League becoming the focus for Manchester City, but I don't know anyone else who can get four goals in a match on multiple occasions
Kane has proved he can score big goals in big games but Tottenham don't blow teams away like Manchester City.

This reminds me that I saw a salty letter from a Liverpool fan this week which appeared to suggest we only ever win games by a goal or two. I know rival fans have selective memories but that’s ridiculous given how many wallopings we’ve doled out in the past 2 and a half seasons.

Liverpool, you say?

Liverpool?

Liverpool FC?

As in Liverpool FC, creators and owners of all things Association Football?

The same Liverpool FC we beat 4-1 this season?

Oh.

I was thinking of the comparison between that goal and the Liverpool pen decision.
Juves goal.
Definite offside.
Goal stood.
No media attention at all.
Poch doesn't mention it.
Players don't mention it.
Level of importance in match- massive.
Liverpool pen.
Debatable decision at best.
No goal scored anyway.
Media shit storm batters the UK for 5 days and nights.
Klopp foaming at the mouth like they only got a draw because we got awarded a pen, a pen we didn't bloody score.
Players and fans spouting shit to all who'll listen until after 5 days Shit Storm Klopp finally disipates somewhere over the Atlantic.
Importance of decision on game and result- fkin none whatsoever.

Personally I think we could do with kicking up a shit storm ourselves every now and then.

but that was against liverpool, the most self important football team that has ever been.any hint of controversy that affects them in a negative is NOT ALLOWED!

In the last three and a half seasons Liverpool have had to sell Suarez, Sterling and Coutinho. You never hear them described as a selling club.
Exactly, but the perception from the media is that a definition of a selling club is us and this has become hard to shift even in-light of all the evidence elsewhere showing we far being alone on this one.

Exactly. Unfortunately the headlines are not written by the journo who penned the article. In this social-media/clickbait era that means they're instead written by someone who is basically paid to be a WUM and come up with some sort of trolling headline that will make as many people as possible click the link in fury.

Our past history as a selling club has become a mindset for most of media and pundits alike. It will be difficult to break this mindset irrespective of success, as these half witted twats will always default to believing we are and always will be a selling club.

We have been less of a selling club than Arsenal have and yet the will he won't he saga on Sanchez only started when he had practically decided he was leaving.

We have not been a selling club at all. It is a myth that fits the hack media narrative. Arsenal have sold more key players than we have, are in steady decline and yet don't get the same stick. Clichy, Sagna, Toure, Van Persia, going back further they also sold Henry, Overmars and Anelka. We have sold Bale, modric, berbatov, keane and walker! We made huge profit and continued to improve!

The highlighted bit is the key. Arsenal have sold and have gradually drifted down. We have sold and as you say improved. Wenger's time should be over but he continues to linger like a bad smell long may it continue.
