Spurs work with Nike on sports centre renovation

Young footballers have been practising their skills at a renovated sports centre.

Children and teenagers from Tottenham Hotspur Foundation programmes shot, dribbled and passed on a new all-weather pitch.

Spurs worked with club kit sponsor Nike to refurbish Tottenham Community Sport Centre’s football facility.

Club legend and ambassador, Ledley King, was on hand to offer advice and encouragement.

He said: “Having a safe space like this for teenagers to play sport is hugely beneficial to the area.

“Local youngsters will now have more opportunities to play sport and meet new friends on their doorstep, helping to improve their physical and mental health and improve levels of anti-social behaviour.

"With the club's stadium development ongoing, we are changing the face of Tottenham and these fantastic new facilities, courtesy of Nike, at Tottenham Community Sports Centre are another example of this."

The local school near me has an arsenal sponsored playground and it really annoys me. Maybe I can ask spurs to take it over...

We seem to building a very close relationship with Nike. Seen a few twitter rumours of them buying 25% share. Probably rubbish. But just wondering would they actually be allowed to ? Considering surly would be a conflict of interest with players from other clubs on their books. Wouldn’t that also rule out any naming rights ideas ?

Looks like Nike gave them all a new pair of boots as well...

Don't Emirates sponsor about a dozen clubs around the world? I'd personally love Nike to get naming rights, their 'Watch us Rise' campaign & AJ Tracey kit launch, 'LDN' advert and grassroots work they just have an appeal that really fits.

I'm not sure as to the details of NFL kit contracts, but they also manufacture every NFL kit.

My thought re Nike was if they had a large involvement say naming rights. I’m sure you’d hear discontent in regard to them influencing their contracted players to sign for us. Just may all get a bit dodgy like 3rd part ownership etc. But I guess no worse than current wolves situation.
