He has made mistakes and will make mistakes in the future. But writing him off after half a season is silly. The end of next season and he is still making the same errors then yes, we will need to ship him out, but right now we have to give him a chance to learn the league and learn from Poch. That’s not going to happen in a few months.

Apologies if this has already been posted, but Ferdinand in the studio game analysis, said he'd seen Aurier quite a few times, even before he joined us, and doesn't rate him as a good defender at all. If he's going to make it with us, Poch will need to really coach his decision making big time.
Rio was known for being a bit hot and cold in Spam days. He got better.

At least he is good at playing uno. ;)
(I like the atmosphere in the dressing room now, and aurier seems to be a social guy)

He has a good game and everyone says Poch is working his magic and he will be so good....he makes a mistake and everyone wants him shipped out.

Come on guys give him some time.

The thing is that tackle at the end of the half was like something that would be shown at a referee's meeting in the preseason as an example of a quintessential penalty, as in a scenario in which three plays inside the box are shown and analyzed.

In the first one, the defender appears to have brought down the opposition player but the ref instructor would then go on to explain/demonstrate how what everyone just saw was not a foul (as in: ball to hand, not hand to ball).

In the second one, the play example would be more murky, a judgement call wherein Player "A" and Player "B" would collide while both going for the ball, and it would be looked at as an example of how sometimes a call is made simply based upon the ref's discretion and/or feeling regarding the play.

For the third one, the presenter would show Serge's tackle in the final minute of the half against Juventus, and immediately every person in the room would 100% agree that that was/is a penalty- after which they'd make comments to each other like "If only they were ALL that easy!"

That was just such an obviously stupid thing to do that it was incredible. Lunging in with a last-ditch, desperate tackle from behind against an opposition player playing for a massive club- Juventus- in their stadium, just before the end of the half-- I mean, there are no words. That was literally the worst thing he could have done, and he did it. Just such incredible stupidity...stupidity which could EASILY have cost us millions of Pounds. Higauin scores that goal and we are out of the competition, simple as.

I still can't believe he did that...

Did not recall reading a long post like this when Dawson made a couple of worst tackles then this giving away penalties. Serge made one bad tackle in a game and you took such effort to prove how “stupid” he is. How do you know that if that penalty was converted we would have lost that game? How could you possibly know that.
Is it that difficult to support a player who is working hard for the team?

I’m all for supporting players but Serge got sent off against West Ham and gave a penalty away against R.Madrid doing the same reckless lunging so clearly a pattern forming. And he’s done the same thing a few more times and gotten away with it just

If we didn’t have someone that more knowledgeable youth watchers have called one of our best prospects in years in KWP waiting in the wings I would be less fussed but we do and if this keeps happening would like to see KWP at least get some more chances to show he has what it takes without the reckless aspect to his game

I reckon he has been making successful tackles like that all his career.
But now either a few of the players he is coming up against are slightly quicker than him, or he has slowed down.

I reckon he is braindead and as a consequence most probably uncoachable, I have serious doubts that the 'fullback whisperer' can work his magic on this particular specimen.

5 foul throws in 2 games is quite frankly a disgrace, I actually LOL'ed when Harry was over at the touch line at 85+mins and hesitated for a second, saw it was Serge wanting to take the throw from him and promptly ignored him and threw the ball quickly (and fairly!) himself.

Made a great challenge in our box and puts in one decent ball of note, but barring that he was a complete disaster today...the miss was poor too, just sloppy.

Talented, but stupid and as a result far too sloppy...and it's his whole game, both on and off the ball, His next performances will be critical to his future here IMO, he's going to need to engage his brain.

Seems to be getting worse by the game! Another hurrendous performance. Can see why PSG wanted rid. Unforgivable for a professional footballer to foul throw three times in one game!!

i just don't see where all this apparent upside is for us to work with. you might eradicate a lot of the thicko moments out of his game over time but he's not going to become any more athletic and his technique in terms of delivery isn't going to improve a great deal at this point in his career.

Pascal chimbonda has found a way of resigning for spurs. Fucking woeful footballer in every aspect of his game. We need another new right back come the summer.

That’s kind of where I am with him. Limited technique wise and not particularly quick. His end product is unlikely to improve.

Don’t see the potential. He’s not a Spring chicken.

I think that’s harsh on Chimbonda. He was a decent player.

He will be getting a lot of stick because he didn't play well but that tackle in our box may just have saved us conceding...
