Main thing is for it go ahead succefully and that there are no problems or failures. Everything depends on this. Fingers crossedPity he doesn't say whether this is behind schedule or not.

What is the function of the roof cassettes? Are they purely just for rain protection above the stands, as then it shouldn't be a huge issue if they're a bit behind as they wouldn't be part of the critical path.Without wanting to scare monger, and I debated posting at all, they will be behind. The company manufacturing the roof cassettes are massively behind. I'm happy to verify my source with admins but not in public.
Thing to remember is that whilst that may or may not be true (not doubting at all btw) it may not be time-critical to completion.Without wanting to scare monger, and I debated posting at all, they will be behind. Just struck me today, as is often the case: Qatar have 5000 dead stadium construction workers and zero stadiums built. We are at worst going to be a few weeks late with ours, zero dead workers and paid for by success on the pitch rather than natural gas deposits in the gulf.
The bones of the dead will form the pitches of the World Cup.
Much as I dislike what they're doing, is it true that there are 5000 dead workers?
I doubt they’d be brave/stupid enough to give one. Start of the 2018/2019 season. And they’d probably have workmen still going at kickoff...Does anyone know what the original planned completion date is assuming it all goes to schedule?

According to a report published by the International Trades Union Confederation (ITUC) approximately 1200 workers have already died since the World Cup was awarded to Qatar in 2010.
To put that number in perspective the ITUC also revealed the amount of workers killed in the lead up to other major sporting events around the world.
The next highest number of deaths were from the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics with 60 people killed and the 2004 Athens Olympics with 40 killed.
Ten workers died before the 2010 Beijing Olympics and seven were killed while working in construction for the 2014 Brazil World Cup.
There were zero construction fatalities for the 2012 London Olympics and one death for the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
The ITUC predicts that there will be at least 4000 worker fatalities by the time the 2022 FIFA World Cup begins.
Staggering. How do you play that world cup on pitches 'steeped in blood'?
Fuck that world cup. Fuck it.

Only until 29/3/19... #jokingnotjokingThis is why Stadium construction is so much more expensive in this country. We actually have health and safety laws which protects workers.
It’s obviously important but I wouldn’t think it interferes with completing other areas. It’s almost like the icing on a cake. I’d imagine it could be finished off last. The roof cassettes are insulated blocks if you like, they'll sit on the wire net, and then a single ply membrane covering over that. So, yeah it's very important.

Still have to put in seating and the pitch after. Which is fairly important to some people.
Why do you have to put seating in after?
