It's an irritant for Poch as it means less time in week to prepare for the league game but for certain players it's actually a positive. Wanyama, Winks, Rose, Toby, Foyth and Lucas clearly need minutes to get fit or sharp. Son could do with a goal too. Plus as fans we get to watch another 90mins of match fit Sissoko and Llorente.

I thought Winks played well. Mistake for the goal yes but was always looking for the ball and kept it moving. Thought Rose did ok too, particularly in the second half.
Llorente was awful of course. Son too- didn’t want to compete. Wanyama and centre halfs below par.
We are still in there though and can play the same team at home and win.

tbh, I dont think we were all that bad. we created a lot of chances and wasted them, which was down to Llorente and Son. Rochdale played really well and took the couple of chances they made.

On a positive note was deeply impressed by our lads singing a tribute for Ryan Mason. Was so proud of that. Once Spurs always Spurs except for the person we dont talk about.

All good up until your last sentence. ;)

You cannot say our line up was not a strong one! It’s not like we played the kids out there and against Newport! Only excuse is three or four of the players who played today are coming back from long term injury and are definitely struggling for match sharpness.

It also wasnt our starting 11 really. All i was saying is Man U seemed to play more first team players and they got the result they needed.

I agree and I wouldn't shed a single tear if he never played another game for us. If you're a player who is accustomed to playing with silky footballers like Eriksen Kane Alli and Lamela, but then find yourself having to pass the ball to Sissoko, only to watch him fumble with three touches before getting the ball under control, it can be dispiriting and a detriment to team flow.

But at this point, I think you should direct your ire towards Poch. He's the one that continually picks him and puts him in central positions where his horrid first touch is always exposed. That being said, I cant actually recall an occasion where he's lost the ball in embarrassing fashion that resulted in a goal, much like what has happened to a few of our other midfielders of late.

That's right. I think both of you should pop on down to Spurs and give Poch a piece of your mind. Let him know what a fucking mug he is and how you know so much better. :ROFLMAO:

Let us know how it goes, eh? (y):ROFLMAO:

I don’t disagree and I’m not arguing it was necessarily a mistake. My point is that Poch doesn’t value this competition. I can’t really understand how anyone could see otherwise.

The team we put out today should be able to beat Rochdale. Playing our strongest XI from the start would have been dumb considering, doesn't mean he doesn't value the competition.

You have to start with some creative quality
Whenever we start with Llorente and Sissoko you know it is going to be a tough watch

Crystal Palace (A) – now Monday 26 February, kick-off 8pm – Sky Sports*

*In the event of either ourselves or Crystal Palace being involved in an FA Cup fifth round replay during the week commencing 26 February, the Premier League match will revert to Sunday 25 February, kick-off 12pm, live on Sky Sports.
Much rather have that on a Sunday lunchtime than under the lights on a Monday.

one could argue that a group of youngsters and 2nd teamers that regularly play together might look more cohesive than 11 players who haven't seen regular time together recently. no excuses. should have been comfortably 3-1. toby's assist at the end assured him some more playing time in the replay and additional revenue to cover the rochdale pitch (j/k?)

Games like this are for those on the fringes to stake their claim for a first team place. See Erik Lamela. None of those bar Moura did that tonight. There's a reason they're were playing in Rochdale and not Turin

Another example of teams pressing us at the back and more importantly, pressing us as soon as the CM’s get the ball.

Fact is we can’t handle it, no matter who the opposition is and I would be very surprised if other teams don’t gradually pick up on this.

Obviously without Dembele and Eriksen on the field this impacts us even more as the likes of Sissoko, Wanyama and Dier are simply not comfortable with receiving the ball to feet and playing one touch football. When Dembele is on the pitch this is mitigated somewhat, but even against Newport the press of the opposition upset his rhythm.

We need to get wise to it and either anticipate the tactic or adapt mid game.

People are missing the bigger picture here, as a club we are making lifelong dreams come true by repeatedly allowing crap players to play at Wembley.
These days football is all about money and greed and I, for one, am glad we're giving something back...I was made up for that fat lad who waddled on to score the equaliser.

Moura, Son... We did create chances, we just over complicated things too much. If Llorente and Wanyama took theirs we'd have gone through comfortably.

You're setting this up for someone to say Sissoko, aren't you?
