I'm surprised there isn't a thread already about this but I cannot believe nothing has been mentioned about the vile song sang today, ive heard it before but not 3 or 4 times at full voice like that. I dislike Sol Campbell as much as any spurs fan but that song is disgusting.

How we can go from being classy as away supporters and singing for Ryan Mason to going full Chelsea and singing something like that is beyond me.

Not to mention is was aired on live tv for everyone to hear.

Hope none of you we're there and participating because it's a fucking disgusting .

I'm not doubting you, but all I heard was the song calling him a ****, not the other notorious one.

I agree with you it's disgusting, but the mistake you are making is ever thinking we have "classy" supporters. Just like other clubs there are a lot of our fans who are morons and *****. When you then add in the mob mentality which can turn even a mild mannered individual into a bit of a **** then it's no real surprise.

Campbell song, the You’re Shit song, only sung by bone heads

Can never take the moral high ground while that stuff is still happening. It’s classless

Never understood the issue some of the sensitive fans have with the 'you're fucking shit' song.

No different from 'He left cos you're shit, (insert player name here), he left cos you're shit'.
I take it you have an issue with that one as well?

For me it depends on who that song is aimed at, I personally feel that song is fine when playing arsenal, Chelsea or west ham. But when it's being sung against teams like Fulham it's just not necessary.

Unless it's derogatory in any way or personal to that player, e.g. When that fan shouted at Livermore about his dead son, then I see no problem with it. It's football, it's clearly tongue in cheek, no one actually will have a party when he dies.

Also don't get this idea that it was 15 year ago so we should stop singing about it. With that logic we stop having a rivalry with Arsenal, they moved to north London 100 years ago now, we're bigger then that, it's time to move on. Doesn't really make sense does it? Sol Campbell is a selfish prick and deserves to know it.

Its just a bit of football banter, I think some fans would just like to sit there and politely applaud the away teams fans all game, before allowing them to take all the seats on the train on the way home while we all stand up for the entire journey.

Erm, they are still are a rival, why would we stop hating them because it was 100 odd years ago?
You'd have a point if they'd fucked off back south of the river, but they haven't.

I know it's not anything vicious but when you start singing it when you're 1 nil up and then go on to lose 2-1 like against Newcastle a couple seasons ago then we look so fucking stupid.

I think we should have sung that to Rochdale just after they equalised.
As for the Campbell song "you're such a...... not a fan but its not strictly factually inaccurate is it?

Not gonna get on my high horse about it, and it's not the best song. I'm more bothered that we are still referencing him. It's gone. Let it go for fuck sake.

On a side note, the na na na na, you're shit song winds me up too. Just saying

No different from giving any player bit of abuse, then them popping up to score the winner...those are the risks.

That was my point? I said "Doesn't make sense does it"

In the same way we shouldn't stop being rivals with Arsenal we shouldn't stop singing about sol, he hasn't apologised or anything.

Hes not even a footballer anymore, he retired years ago.
Arsenal are still football team.
Sorry mate but your logic is flawed Imo.

I should point out I don't really mind people singing it, I just don't sing it myself, because he's irrelevant.

No one involved in Arsenals move is still alive and yet that is the basis of our rivalry. There is no logic in football support so it can't be flawed, if you don't want to sing about it fine but he's not irrelevant, he betrayed us in the worst way when we didn't have very much and if people want to let him know it's not forgotten then I think that's justified

They're not a rival because they moved, they're a rival because they are a few miles away from us....if they'd originally been formed a few miles away from us they would still be as much a rival, the move has nothing to do with it....it might have added a bit more spice, but its no different from the Scouse or Manchester rivalries.

I would say wishing death on somebody even in a tongue in cheek way is pretty damn personal.
