City basically have 6 AM de Bruyne silva x2 sane sterling gundagin. I think it’s just replacing sissoko basically. If we replaced sissoko and Llorente with quality options we’d pretty much be in a par with city imo.

KDB and D Silva are pretty much playing as CM/8's in the 433 now though, with Sane, B Silva, Sterling and Aguero in the front group.

But I think Poch will employ this against lesser teams. With Just 1 DM then Eriksen dele either side and 3 up top.

Main targets of the summer:
-Fix wage structure, pay our players their worth and keep Rose and Toby (Cmon Levy, let's do it while we've got the best squad we've ever had...)
-Replace Sissoko
-Replace Llorente
-Sell Janssen (is there already a clause in his contract that he's off to Fenerbache?)
-Sell N'ClueDo

I can't buy into the discussion that Sissoko is considered an AM of any sorts. In my eyes he is quite clearly a CM. With him racking up appearances this season (and having a decent season by last season's standards) he should have a line of suitors in the market. If Poch is looking for a similar style player to Sissoko for his squad: a tall, quick, physical CM, Watford's Doucoure and Valencia's Kongdogbia fit the bill. These players are younger and have better technical ability than Sissoko.

Personally, I would like us to go for one of Lyon's young CMs like Ndombele (insanely talented, could grow into Dembele's replacement) and Auoar (who can also play as an att. midfield) or other talents such as Jean Michael Seri, Mario Lemina, one of Madrid's CMs (Kovacic or Ceballos). Maybe even another raid on our new favorite business partner, PSG, and go for Adrien Rabiot (most likely the most expensive on the list).

The backup striker situation will continue to be a difficult problem. Because it will always be difficult to find a backup striker for Kane, I think Poch should implement a fluid attack line like Klopp runs at Liverpool (I think Son and Dele could slot into the Firmino CF role, especially against third tier teams in the FA cup ffs)
Selling Llorente and Vinny will free funds to sign another AM (yes Malcom, Richarlison, Suso, etc.), but if we don't I think we can make our current crop of Dele, Son, Lucas, Eriksen and Lamela work fine. If we signed Gareth again (pipe dream), he could surely play striker as well (if his legs aren't broken)
The chances are Poch will not switch to the tactic, so we will probably go in for a striker. While Timo Werner, Michy, or Kasper Dolberg would be my dream signings, they won't want to get paid 70k a week to play second fiddle to Harry, so players such as Sebastian Haller, Davie Selke, Antonio Sanabria, Jean Kevin Augustin, Giovanni Simeone, Borja Mayoral, and even Divock Origi or Munir El-Haddadi (who has been playing quite well as a CF on loan this year) are players we should be chasing that could be phenomenal off the bench.

I would love for us to sign Jann-Fiete Arp as a third choice striker this summer as well. If we sign him in the summer, he could become a home grown player for us. His favorite player is Kane and he's fully COYS so I think he'd love to develop behind him

Side note: Patrick Cutrone is a home grown striker at AC Milan that is having a similar rise to stardom story as Kane. He would be a phenomenal player to have, but he seems to have the same passion for Milan as Kane has for Spurs.

I think Josh King from Bournemouth would be perfect as a backup to Kane. Is quick, Strong on the ball and not to bad in the air. can also play behind the striker in deles role. Also becomes a homegrown player having been a youth at Man United. and has premier league experience.

Watching the city game and they seem to be playing 4-1-2-3

Im confident dembele could do fernandinhos role and we could then have 5 foward players.

Then malcom should be signed

One season wonder.

We’ve already got a back up for Kane in Son. We should only be looking to bring in a young striker whom we can develop. Arp being to perfect player. With us reportedly still pushing for Malcom, it makes sense to use Son in his current position and to use him as and when needed to cover Kane. By doing this we’ll be able to accommodate what would be our 6 attacking midfielders/wide forwards in Moura, Malcom, Alli, Eriksen, Lamela and Son.

Genuine question here:

Other than knowing that he idolizes Kane and is a fan what do we actually know about Arp? I've seen very little and that little did little for me so would like to hear more from someone who has seen more.

" Arp has modelled his game on Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Harry Kane; they have similar frames (allowing for the difference in age) and characteristics. "He plays the way I want to play," the German told UEFA.com.

Like Kane, Arp is a true No. 9 who leads the line, utilises great movement in the penalty area and scores a variety of different goals. During the tournament he's netted headers, scrappy follow-ups, 20-yard drilled efforts and everything in between. Two hat-tricks—one against Bosnia and Herzegovina, one against Ireland—showcased how he can single-handedly put games beyond opponents' reaches.

A big-bodied guy, he's combative and fights to wrest control of the ball off markers. He also works hard to apply pressure to opponents, forcing errors or shanked clearances. Once he has the ball, it's difficult to get it off him; he's a back-to-goal striker who can put his body between you and the ball. Team-mates feel safe playing it into him—even in tight spaces against deep-set defences—as they feel confident he can create from that position or at least deliver it back.

The way he moves the ball out of his feet quickly in order to use it seriously impresses; the Kane comparison is a good one for many reasons, but this is the prime one. Technically sound, his touch is good under pressure; he rarely gets the ball stuck under his feet. Shifting it out quickly, he's often able to make room for a shot or a clever pass into a runner's path. He even looks like Kane in the way he shapes for a long-range shot: He's knocked two in from outside the box during the competition, one of which kissed the post on its way.

An alert, heads-up player, Arp's first-time passes and clever flicks can make the difference—particularly against those who opt to reduce space between the lines and defend deep. Many big strikers suffer from tunnel vision, rendering them capable only of playing the way they face, but Arp's aware of what's going on around him at all times"

What Does He Offer?

Arp is a big, lanky forward and suits the No.9 position perfectly. At 6ft 2in, he cannot be bullied easily and can lead the line without any qualms. Being only 17, Arp has a sharp eye for goal backed up by a cool and composed finish.

At such a tender age, Arp already looks a cut above most of his peers around Europe. He is a typical poacher in the game and demonstrated the fact in the European U-17 championship earlier this year.

The striker can score different types of goals- with his right foot, left-foot as well as with the head. He’s a very skilful player and uses his intelligence to get into good positions to score. Well developed physically, the teenager has a very mature reading of the game which often fuels his sharp decision-making on the field.

In the modern era of football where kids look up to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Arp’s role model is Tottenham’s Harry Kane since he plays in a similar way. In terms of his own game, the German feels he has a lot of qualities to be a fantastic striker but he needs to improve certain areas, most notably his left-foot. Someone very mature for his young age, Arp is destined for bigger things.

I can only imagine, if he were to be signed as our back up striker what impact training with Kane and training under Poch would have on his development. I could also see Kane and him starting certain games for us. Cmon Levy make it happen!

Just seen that de Vrij is leaving Lazio on a free this summer - confirmed by the club.

Probably Liverpool bound I assume, but if Alderweireld were to be off he would be a good replacement.

We are still in for Malcom. Poch wants quality variables. Word out is he wants us. Depends on how things pan out with in the summer. And already mentioned few times, we were very close etc. I hope it still happens, and I remain optimistic.
Just on Malcolm, I saw this yesterday.

Apologies if already posted (but i couldn't see it) and i hope i have posted it correctly.

Agree with this. Dier is a leader. I read an interesting article somewhere in late Autumn that said Dier shoudl be England captain. He has that presence about him and is co

City play a weird 4-3-3 with very high FBs (really more of a 2-3-2-3). Four of their midfielder and attackers 4 are what we think of as AMs, 1 is a holding CM, and 1 sometimes is a CF (Aguero).

Ederson
Stones----------------------Otamendi
Walker------------------Fernandinho-------------------Delph
Silva-------------DeBruyne
Sterling-------Aguero-------Sane

We could try that ....

Lloris
Sanchez-----------------Vertonghen
Aurier---------------------Dembele------------------------Rose
Eriksen-----------------Dele
Moura-----------Kane------------Son
This would only work if we have Wanywama instead of Dembele. I love a good 4-1-4-1 formation it gives you so much flexibility.

Been interesting to see that Bale has been playing up front with Ronaldo recently, and seems to be getting some game time as a Striker...

Yes, I know it’s a pipe dream, and yes, I know his injuries are concerning...but signing Bale to be a wide attacker/striker backup option, could be absolutely sumptuous. If we signed Arp as a prospect and loaned him out too, gives us so so many options..

Eriksen-Alli-Bale
Kane
———
Moura-Alli-Eriksen-Son
Kane-Bale
———
Moura-Lamela-Son
Bale

To name a few, but the possibilities are endless...

Call me optimistic if you want, but this is a wish list for a reason fellas
