OK. Now that Man C. have been eliminated from the FA Cup by the mighty Wigan. We now have two games important games with only 2 days between them. That is between us and Palace, and us and Rochdale. So the question is what two teams from our current squad would you put out for two games, WITHOUT using ANY player TWICE.

In the afterglow of Man C going out, I have not worked out my thoughts yet, but will edit this post to put up my choices tomorrow!

EDIT: So having thought about it, my two teams are:

Loris

Dier Sanchez Verts

Trippier Dembele Eriksen Davies

Lamela Kane Dele

Vorm

Aurier Foyth Toby Rose

Moura Wanyama Winks

KWP Llorente Son

So, go for it guys, crucify me. Please be gentle, I've had a few!

The side against Juve and the side against Rochdale are the 2 teams from squad (give or take some changing between the 2).

I dont believe any player started both but i could be wrong.

You may be right, but the point is, is the balance between the two teams right? With 24 players in the squad, with three GKs we only have 1 spare player and a week to work it out. So what should the right balance be between the two teams?

ERRRR. NO. The point of the thread was the two games between us and Palace AND us and Rochdale. I didn't explain the first post correctly. SO. The two teams are 1. Palace. and 2. Rochdale. Meanwhile I'll go back and correct my original post.

With City out there is not team left in the FA Cup who are better than us, and if we get there we effectively have a home Semi and a home Final. This is our best chance to win it in years and we should go all out now after this tie imo. The only reason I haven't gone stronger is because of the gap between the two fixtures, but we should be putting out best team out for Swansea/Wednesday away imo if we get there.

Think he will go the same as this week personally. Not sure that's the right way to go, but I can see it happening.

I think you have to approach the Palace game with the same strength of team as United/Liverpool/Arsenal. Even without Zaha, Benteke is capable of grabbing a couple of goals even when in poor form and we know that Andros' shots can end up anywhere, including top corner. So only choice for me would be Lamela or Son. Sticking to the thread rules, Rochdale team would be made up of whatever is left - so probably same as Sunday.

I'd field exactly the same team against Rochdale as the first leg - that team should be more than capable of beating them, especially at home, so if I was Poch I'd send the same side out and tell them that this is their second chance to do what they should've done in the first round. There's a lot of factors that'll play to our strengths - bigger pitch, bigger crowd, etc. but these players need to get used to each other, they need to recognise that they are capable and that they let themselves down in the first tie.

Full confidence that we can beat them at Wembley but, if we get to half time and the team still aren't gelling, then we can look at changes during the break. Poch having faith in their abilities rather than weighing too heavily on a bad day out for them (against, to be fair, a team that played their bloody socks off) will benefit them hugely.

The pitch is the same size as ours.

Fair point. As said in the original post, I had had a few, so switch KWP and Moura, although I did put Moura on the right. I think that would work, KWP does have the skills for that position, so I understand although I haven't seen him play.
