Hsbc? Oh god no. Talk about a scummy company. Defrauding there regular clients out of a total of 3.5bn. They might be trying to rehab there image a bit but they also could now be fined another 1.5bn for helping there big wig clients with tax evasion. There’s scummy companies then there’s HSBC a level or 2 above that.
their* (sorry forgot this wasn't the "what our opponents' fans are saying" thread)

Just seeing this - but I think the sponsorship bans only apply to the final match - not to any group or knockout stage matches hosted by Spurs.
Nope, all stadiums have to be sponsor free in Europe. Hence: -

Bayern Munich play at 'Fußball Arena München'
Man City play at 'City of Manchester Stadium'
Borussia Dortmund play at 'BVB Stadion Dortmund' (Interestingly not Westfalenstadion)
Arsenal play at 'Arsenal Stadium'

etc. All taken directly from UEFA's website.

You are going to be hard pressed to find a company willing to spend the money that Levy wants, who does not have some skeletons in the closet.
Well yeah but HSBC has extra skeletons in their closet and hasnt seemed able to get out of their own way in years.

gilly on simb: In news thats worthy, our naming rights is down to three players, the words of Matthew C who the three are i honestly have zero idea tho as i said previously HSBC is a name that keeps cropping up.

Of course one of our directors is high up in HSBC and they have huge interests globally

You certainly are. HSBC, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch.

Cheers

Already having dealings with HSBC would add a bit more credibility to the rumours of them being the stadium sponsors. They seem to be a name that keeps popping up in relation to the stadium sponsorship as well and they can certainly afford the type of money that Levy would want.

So UEFA are going to force us to call it White Hart lane! I can live with that.

Haha, I'd like that too, but all UEFA require is a name without sponsorship in it, the club determine what actual name is put forward and I suspect reference to not using White Hart Lane would be in a sponsor's contract. It's likely that's why Signal Iduna Park doesn't become 'Westfalenstadion' in Europe, for example. With that in mind, it's likely that it will be Tottenham Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or THFC Stadium in Europe. (Or an iteration with Arena or some such in the name, depending on what adjective is ultimately chosen).

More exposure in the Far East (HSBC - Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, for those that don't know).

I did read a while ago that they were considering resurrecting the Midland Bank name over here though so perhaps there could be some tie-in with that.
I hope you’re not suggesting 17.5k people will be sitting in the Midland Bank? Those fucking queues would sure be bad publicity!

More exposure.... LoL...

Everyone in the Far East knows that HSBC is a Western bank... :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Hong Kong/Shanghai does make it sound.... Exotic... But everyone knows it's a British bank. It's not like it's BoC (bank of China) which is what is common in the... Far East.

HSBC Arena sounds fine to me. As long as we are getting the rumoured £20M a season for 20 year. It's good enough.

And before I get all the disagree and dislikes. I know HSBC has roots in HK when it was own by the British... Blah blah blah... It's not a "China local bank" so most locals don't have accounts there. It's only for the rich. Most of us people in the east don't have the money to open bank accounts in big banks like hsbc/citi etc.

Unlikely but the one i think WOULD be a great tie in of the top 100 brands list is Tesla.
Elons got tons of money and that'd be a clever deal for both parties.

On the other hand if its the McD stadium you just know everyones going to rebel and sing we are tottenham from white hart lane rendering the whole thing meaningless

I just hope it's not something shit, surely the club will reject certain offers purely based on it being a bad fit. I wonder if Levy would accept if Vagisil offered 1 billion for example.

I dunno. Theres alot of mileage in that.. I mean other clubs fans couldnt argue we were irritating. Football at our stadium would reach the parts that other products dont. Alli sliding in the box would be a redeamable feature. Yup come to think of it, theres much to recommend that suggestion for both us and opposition fans.

Corr, if you were Anusol you'd have to find the Naming Rights for Arsenal Stadium an obvious fit for the brand.

Love is a burning thing
And it makes a fiery ring
Bound by wild desire
I fell in to a ring of fire

I fell in to a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down
And the flames went higher

And it burns, burns, burns
The ring of fire
The ring of fire
