the thing with our remaining fixtures is:

Crystal Palace (a) = not a team that sits back usually at home, and need points

Huddersfield (h) = in the games I've seen them on the box, not seen them sit back and try and counter

Bournemouth (a) = another team that doesn't sit back, doesn't suit their style, and due to the amount of teams below them they only need 8-10pts to stay up

Newcastle (h) = most probably due to be moved, and dependant on our progress in the CL. by the time we play them they might need to win games, but if an away point helps I really expect them to stick XI men behind the ball

Chelsea (a) = would take a draw if offered now, even though a win would end the mare once and for all. with their difficult run coming up and providing our results go our way above we could be 4 or 5pts ahead of them, so they won't sit back

Stoke (a) = can't afford to only pick up the odd point, as they need wins to stay up

Man City (h) = the way its going they should have the title wrapped up by then. with a good possibility we both would of played a CL match that week, and a week before the FA Cup semi, their could be a possibility they won't be going full strength.

Brighton (a) = apart from early on in the season I haven't seen them sit back, also this game could also be delayed due to the FA Cup semi weekend. might even be drawn v them in the quarters which guarantees it will be re-arranged

Watford (h) = do they know how to defend:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

West Brom (a) = could/should be down. if down we need to take it serious, as if they are down, they will play with freedom

Leicester (h) = tricky finish to be fair, really hope we don't need this to decide a top 4 finish.

all our dropped points at home this season have been bus parkers, including Chelsea, and they are our toughest away fixture.

with Man U still to play everyone in top 6 except us, they will drop points, and if they don't our rivals will also drop points.

Liverpool still have to play Man U and Chelsea away, so yet again our rivals will drop points.

Chelsea the only thing that might benefit them is being out of the CL, but they have to play both United and City away, and us and Liverpool at home. if they don't take any points (hoping v Man U is a draw), or v City, then our game could be the decider for them getting top 4.

Not sure where to put this as there’s no pre match thread yet but..

Apparently Hennessy injured himself in training and is out long term alongside Speroni and so they’ll have to have play one of the kids in goal. Their best two outfield players are injured as well (Zaha and Sakho). We really need to get at them quickly on Sunday.

Just checked odds . Very surprised we are 1.4 and Chelsea 1.9 . We are normally over priced. Maybe to do with fixtures coming. I guess we could easily be 5 pts ahead after next 2 games or not.

Chelseas run home is horrendous.

Odds will change if they beat Man U this weekend.

Before Hennessey’s injury Palace we’re looking to sign Cavalieri from Fluminense as cover due to speroni injury. He is a free agent contract cancelled. He was at Liverpool quite a few years ago. No news on that since 5 days ago. I would have preferred Hennessey to play as I have always thought he is a poor goalkeeper. They haven’t won a game this season without Zaha in the side and he is currently in Dubai in a knee brace

Not sure if this is right place but with the champions league match about to start...

Is it better to support Barca (for obvious reasons)

Or have Chelscum play more matches with their ( supposedly thin) squad and keep Conte in a job.

I am torn.

Definitely don't want Chelsea to have the prestige of beating Barca. Probably better for our top 4 hopes if they do but confident we'll get the better of them any way.

I’d actually rather Chelsea win. Not only for the fact it keeps their schedule more busy but also I’d much rather play Chelsea in the next round than Barca (if we get through of course)

This. We can do that lot even if they try the anti-football shit it'll have to be for them to get past Barca. They meanwhile would be the best footballing team we could face by a distance. We aren't very used to top sides trying to play football against us and don't generally have the best record in recent years when they do.

Actually think it’s 79pts in 13/14 by them. And sorry Leicester was 81pts.

You're right. I posted this back in January.

4th place the last few seasons:

2017 - 76 points
2016 - 66 points
2015 - 70 points
2014 - 79 points
2013 - 73 points
2012 - 69 points
2011 - 68 points
2010 - 70 points

(Then I thought we'd need 75 points. Now I think it might be 78 points)

A draw there would be best for us.

The thing is, the way its so tight, we need one team to drop lots of points rather than them all accruing 1 point here and there. It will be down to that in the end, so I don't really mind a single team getting lots if it means in the face to face games that single team wins every match.

I would rather face barca in the cl than chelsea. Whole point of being in the cl is pitting ourselves against the best clubs in europe. We play chelsea all the time, not as exciting.

Annoying Liverpool will have a PL game home to Watford. So will be playing catch up till Newcastle game is rearranged, which is never good psychologically.
You assume we will be behind them, they may be playing catch up even though we have a game in hand:)

You know how we always say this game is massive then we say but everygame is massive then we say but this one really is? Well this one REALLY is. Considering we now have the early KO and considering the scum are not playing in the league and considering united are playing Chelsea after we can really can put huge pressure with 3 points
