I was in the Dembele thread and thought about my favourite/best spurs players i had seen and reasons why.

This thread has prob been done in the past but i couldn't really find it. If it has, please merge mods.

My 3 best/favourite in no particular order are

Ginola (In Australia, we only got prem league in early 1990s and he was so magic)

Bale (that season before he left us was the most unbelievable season from 1 player i have seen.)

Kane. (What can i say. Continually doubted but continually proving critics wrong. I think he will be our best ever player)

Hoddle - English Cruyff and the player who first woke me up to football and Spurs.

Gazza - English Maradona, and cemented my love of football and spurs at 11, in the way Hoddle caught my imagination at 7. Gazza in 90/91 was literally the best player in the world.

Ginola - a blinding light in a time of darkness, watching Ginola in full flow was akin to poetry.

If we're talking about in-person/at the stadium rather than on TV, I'm not old enough to have seen most of the older greats, so I'd probably have to say (in no particular order):

Ginola
Modric
Bale

Unfortunately i never saw Hoddle or Gazza properly live. Seen a few highlights but nothing better than that.

I agree, but he's not yet our greatest player.

I guess as an overseas supporter you may never have seen Ossie in his prime. Ossie in his prime walks into any team, anywhere, any era.
Yeah never saw him but know he was brilliant.

I will have to check out his highlights.

That is why i like this forum (to learn new things)

Bale
Modric
Kane

easy for me.

Alderweireld, King, Dembele, Sandro (at his best) and Eriksen with honorable mentions for me.

King
Berbatov

May not have been the best but they were my favourite players.

Players like Modric I only really appreciated how good he was for us after he left!
