Modric

Dembele

Kane

I have loved watching these three play the game. Generally for me it's midfielders that stick out in this category. Watching how they control the game, their anticipation, movement etc. Modric and Dembele have been my favourites to watch, but Kane is really coming through. He's so much more than goals. His all-round game is phenomenal. I love watching him, he's just such a special player.

Could mention a bunch of other players too, but I think these three for consistency and productivity. Berbatov had moments of greatness, and Bale did things I'm sure I'll see no other player do. They took your breath and excited in moments, but the above players are/were always doing something.

Klinsmann, amazed that we got him. His partnership with Sheringham was gold.

Bale, scored some of the greatest goals I'v ever seen.

Modric, I was overjoyed when we got him, truly a steal at 16 million.

I'm somewhat susprised by the amount of older fans who have said Bale. You hear so much about how special Gazza, Hoddle, Ginola etc were in the 80s and 90s, but it's interesting that this seems to be a time where the bias of 'back in my day' doesn't really come into it. He really was something special, and his last season was just silly.

Imagine how many Spurs fans that are about 8-15 now will be writing on SC in 10-20 years time about how good Kane was back in their day. Sometimes I think we all should take a step back and appreciate just how good he is and what he's doing.

I’m surprised that there was not one mention of Danny Blanchflower.

Greaves my favourite, but Danny deserves at least one mention.

Impossible for me to narrow it down to three.

I saw Mackay, Greaves, Hoddle, Gazza,...that’s four and I’ve left out Steve Perryman and Ledley, as well as Kane, which is just wrong...I give up.
Why not blanchflower mate? Just curious because hes regularly regarded as our greatest player

How can you not have Hoddle in that extensive list that spans 3 generations?

I never saw him, that's the only reason.

I only saw Mackay at the end of his career, when Blanchflower had already packed up, and Jimmy Greaves at the later stages of his Spurs career too. Both were utterly astonishing. I've no doubt whatsoever that Blanchflower was too.
