Evidently when he was quite young he got the image of a footballer tattooed over his entire body and that's how he's managed to fool so many managers into playing him.

http://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2018/02/2...urs-moussa-sissoko-a-must-read-for-nufc-fans/

France boss Didier Deschamp has come out with a remarkable description of Moussa Sissoko today, explaining that the ex-NUFC midfielder is the ‘prototype of a soldier’ and a player that is ‘feared by his opponents’.

‘He does not complain’ was another brilliant one from the France gaffer. Us NUFC fans would tend to disagree, with him discussing his desire to leave for a Champions League club more than his plans to get us out of a relegation dog fight a few years ago.

Now, if you’re a Spurs fan reading this then you’ll probably wonder what all the fuss is about. He may have been much improved for Tottenham this season, but for us fans to also see him compared to a ‘solider’ is pretty laughable given the way he disappeared in amongst our unsuccessful relegation in the 2015/16 season.

I could continue to scrutinise the France boss’ latest comments on Sissoko, but first, here’s what he’s had to say in full when speaking about his favourite Frenchman on SFR Sport:

“One just has to look at the Euro final to see what Moussa Sissoko is capable of.
“I like Moussa Sissoko, he is not my teacher’s pet, but I would say that Moussa is the prototype of a soldier.
“He has gone from Toulouse to working under Pochettino, even if with the latter it was initially a little difficult.
“He does not complain, whether he plays 2 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes or starts the match…
“Moussa Sissoko is very well liked by his team-mates and feared by his opponents.”

‘feared by his opponents’? Don’t get me wrong, he could be if he replicated his Euro 2016 form week in week out, but he still stands out like a sore thumbs in Spurs’ otherwise slick footballing side.

I wonder if anyone will want to buy him in the Summer?

I think he's become a bit of a punchline and not just between our own fans, probably won't help our/his cause when it comes to getting rid. Hopefully he's not happy to just sit on his contract.

He may still suck, but his attitude, work-rate and body language are all 100% better than they were. Did a hell of a lot of running, closing down, and fetching & carrying in the Rochdale game.

Sharp cameo yesterday. Looked trim & fit.

I may be coming around to the idea that he has a role in the squad that's not to be sniffed at. Alternatively, his value in the transfer market may be back in the £20m range if we're looking to offload.

Either way, his contribution this season looks likely to be a fairly healthy net positive, which is good for everyone.

I reckon he’s a perfect backup for Wanyama. Don’t mind if he is in a starting lineup provided that Eriksen is also starting as well.

He lacked a lot of confidence but he's not been no where near as bad as he was. He's going back to basics of keeping it simple and not do too much. I love the way Eriksen and Alli make themselves available for a pass when Sissoko has the ball, that gives him confidence in his passing and ability. Not a terrible player to come off the bench but no way a starter. If Levy can work his magic and get 15-20m for him from some French team I think he'd take that.

Sissoko was the best performing sub on Saturday, in my opinion. All three came onto the pitch when we'd dropped to ~60%, so it was tough to make an impact, but Sissoko did everything required of him, plus a little extra. The tight control on the edge of the pitch took me by surprise, but that was only one of several positive contributions.

Whilst Lamela played one nice through pass to Dele and made two good challenges in our own half, he was sloppy on a couple of occasions.

Lucas didn't really have time to do anything, but was solid. I love how he looks to drive forward the majority of the time, similar to Son and Lamela in this regard.

We have attributes that we seek in a big signing, more often than not an attacking one.

They are: Finesse, control, timing, flair, movement, footballing intelligence, some effort.

The players we've worshipped: Greaves, Blanchflower, MacKay, Gilzean, Hoddle, Ardiles, Gascoigne, Waddle, Ginola, Berbatov

If you're more defensive, then I would just say it's exemplified by Wanyama.

On that understanding, he's not a "Spurs player", the most misplaced since Zokora.
