Chairman: "We have received two applications for the manager's job. The first is from an individual who was described by a former manager as 'unusual' and 'volatile', who once threw a chair at his first-team coach, who threatened to fake an injury in a row with another manager, who sent abusive text messages to his club captain and his chairman's son, who allegedly assaulted two women in a bar and two men in a street, who attacked a team-mate with a golf club, who allegedly once went on strike to force a move, who slapped a pitch invader in the face, and who, most shockingly of all, once played for West Ham."

Board: "Blimey. who's the second from?"

Chairman "Sol Campbell..."

Board Secretary: "All in favour of Craig Bellamy, say 'aye'"

Board: "Aye"

It's inconceivable that Campbell couldn't get a job in management, just maybe not in the top 2 tiers, and maybe not at every club in tier 3. But I'd say some tier 3 clubs, many tier 4 clubs, and almost all in the National League would give him a shot.

If he's bellyaching about not being able to get a job - and he's been doing it for fucking years now - it's almost certainly because he doesn't want to get his hands dirty, or lacks the humility to start at the bottom.

Or because everyone that speaks to him thinks he's a bell-end.

Couldn’t West Ham hire him? That would be a match made in heaven.

In some ways I feel sorry for him, the fact that he apparently doesn't have anyone honest enough close to him to tell him the truth. He's all talk and no action anyway, if he was anything more then he'd go and get his coaching badges and prove his point, but he won't. He'll sit around and bitch and whine and it'll inevitably be him being bitter because he's not being handed something on a plate. Again.

Maybe the fact we still have a go at him after all this time is having a detrimental effect on his career chances. He’s a joke figure despite a successful playing career.

Actually, he’s talking on Talksport right now. He’s a joke figure because he’s a joke.
