Find it strange that with everything that's good about the club and the team these days, people still want to sing about Campbell. Does make us seem a little small time.

Has anyone actually established where this party is going to take place?

Asking for a friend.

The beer garden out the back of the Brickies, depending on the weather obviously. 10er in advance, 15 quid on the door.

I fitted a spurs sticker to rear window of my car.
I figured best way was to get in back of car and do it from inside.
It went well until I realised I couldn't get out.
I could see my dog in my front room looking at me through the window with a 'yeah, gets fkin hot in there quick doesnt it asshole?'
Thought about texting wife to come let me out but I managed to clamber over the seats and get out lol. Have to admit I felt like a right twat.
Should have warning label on packaging before some poor spurs fan dies in the back of his car from heat exhaustion.

I've mentioned in this thread that I don't sing the Sol Campbell songs, I hate him, but he's not relevant, so I won't be wasting my breath on him.
The post you've quoted was aimed at the sensitive fans who think we shouldn't sing the 'you're fucking shit' song at other teams and their fans.
The piss thing is just wrong, and I take offence at your assumption that I consider racism as banter...so maybe you should read the fucking thread before mounting your high horse next time.(y)

I don't know why people equate this to sensitivity.

When we are beating a top side or a local rival and sing the song it can be quite funny. Personally I find it loses any humour when we sing it in the FA Cup to a minnow or in the league against a team we are clearly wealthier and better than.

That's justmy view and have no problem if others sing it. Happy to discuss it on the forum but becomes difficult when people are only capable of believing someone disagreeing with something means they are sensitive or taking offence.

There are lots of things I disagree with, pretty rarely feel offended though.

That's my view on it as well. When it's against a big side who are supposed to be good it's funny because the joke is obviously that they're not really shit but we're making them look shit, but that joke is completely lost when you're singing it to a side that we were fully expected to beat comfortably in the first place. I don't find it embarrassing necessarily but I'd rather we didn't do it just because the entire point in it is to make fun of the other team but the joke is totally lost in those instances so it just makes no sense.

Well if that's how you feel then my post isn't aimed at you mate.
Let's face it, in the grand scheme of things it's just a bit of harmless fun.

Never said your post was aimed at me. But you did state people disagreeing with it were being sensitive. I think this analysis of people not liking the song in certain contexts is incorrect.

I disagree with your analysis professor.

Good for you, the fact very few people have mentioned finding the songs offensive kind of agrees with me.

I don't think anyone has said they find the "You're f****** shit" song offensive.

Well there's been quite a few, this subject has come up before, so I'm not sure about the agreeing part.

Just to be clear, you're sensitive to being called sensitive then ? :sneaky:

I've seen lots say they find it embarrassing when we sing it to the likes of Fulham. I don't recall anyone finding it offensive.

I recall a few posters that were quite angry about it, not offended, hence my sensitive comment.

Fans making idiots of themselves after games for YouTube hits is embarrassing.
Fans refusing to let a black fella on a train is embarrassing.
Fans calling another team shit?, nah not for me.

You guys suck, those of you who defend the song and those of you who want to censor what other fans chant about that “great footballing mind” ****.

Things I'm actually embarrassed about as a Spurs fan:

7-1 defeat at Newcastle.
5-1 defeat at Newcastle after they went down to 10-men. And got overhauled by The Scum as a result.
5-3 reverse at Man Utd after being 3-0 up at half-time.
4-3 loss in FA Cup to Man City after being 3-0 up at half time and City being down to 10-men.

That's off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more.

On subject of the thread the year/season that R'sol made his debut for us was probably my most embarrassing season as a Spurs supporter in all honesty.
We lost to Leeds 5-0, Sheffield United 6-0 Liverpool 6-2 Manchester United and QPR beat us 4-1 and we lost an fa cup semi final to the scum then went on to lose every semi final of the fa cup since.

Im such a pessimistic Spurs supporter but growing up seeing us lose so badly so often I guess I can enjoy the good results even more.

P.S I'll be hosting a party in Dover when he dies.

I bet Arsenal fans love it when they hear us singing this song. The fact that some are still so bent out of shape over it must be music to their ears. And let's not try and pretend that it was the manner of his departure that's behind all of this. He's hated because he was proved right. While we stumbled about the place doing nothing, he went to Arsenal and won every domestic trophy going. They were already better than us on the pitch. He made them more so. That's what really hurts and fans should at least be honest about it.

Pretty sure Arsenal fans are busy in their own ‘I have never been so embarrassed to be a Arsenal fan..’ thread.

No, lets. Anyone can come out with stuff like that as if they have the inside track so lets not pretend it was anything other than him lying to the club and to the fans before joining our most bitter rivals. I think you'll find he was hated the moment he did it, not with hindsight. What rot.

How did I do? :D

After last night, you're probably right. I enjoyed watching them lose to Barcelona in the CL Final back in '06, especially when Lehmann got sent off, but I think I enjoyed last night even more.
