It is not everything that is bs. His agents rubbing EVERYONE up the wrong way! Let’s see, but I wouldn’t bet on him being here next season. Unless there is a change of attitude & heart. Educated opinion.

Its because the press cottoned on to the fact that Kane,Alli transfer stories are dumped in the bin.
They need another goat to scape.

Daily Hotspur @Daily_Hotspur
.@TimesSport | Tottenham Hotspur are willing to sell Toby Alderweireld in the summer after refusing to match his wage demands of £150,000-a-week. #THFC

.@TimesSport | Tottenham Hotspur's final wage offer to Toby Alderweireld stands at £110,000-a-week including bonuses. #THFC

I want him to stay of course but honestly don't think it would be as big of a blow as some are making out if he did leave. Dier, Sanchez and Vertonghen are great centre backs and Foyth looks promising too.

I'd get a top class mid in and drop Dier back to CB which is his best position anyway.

Only thing i'd say is can we not fucking sell to rivals again.

thanks mate.
I hope that even if there is no new contract, we don't sell this summer. Would send a message to those inside and outside the club.
I know there is a significant delta between the 25 million fee in a year and fair market this summer but, unlike with Walker, a year more feels like it could be beneficial on and off the field in my humble opinion

Weekend will be very interesting who starts. Poch can string out the we are nursing him back all he likes. But he has been back in full training a month now and played 90 mins x2. There really shouldn’t be a fitness reason for him not playing against palace. For me if he doesn’t start it’s definitely a sign Poch thinks his head is not 100% in the right place.

If that's accurate, he can stay on the bench for me and that includes the big game against Juve coming up.

Keep the Vertonghen and Sanchez partnership blossoming.

He's obviously going. I just can't believe we'd be stupid enough to not pay him £150K a week which is clearly commensurate with his abilities, given the fact our turnover will be £400M odd next season and therefore we can comfortably support a £200M PA wage bill.

As a side note, Will be interesting if Poch cuts him out of the action, what with the World Cup approaching.

While it may not be the case here the wages ceiling has to go up majorly in next 6/12 months or we face some going backwards.

Let’s hope levy wants to continue pushing forward

Written by professional Spurs hater matt hughes. Fresh from making up the story about other teams being annoyed at us possibly playing an fa cup semi final at Wembley. The guy is full of shit.

Will be gutted to see him leave, as well as we've been playing without him in the team he's a massive player for us. However, I can sort of understand the club's stance on this to a certain extent, I would love them to just throw the 150k at him and give him what he wants but, he's still got a couple of years left on his contract, he's 29 next month, had two long term injuries in the past 18 months, and they won't want to make him the highest paid player over the likes of Kane/Lloris, so they probably see it as a good opportunity/time to cash in, not that that sits particularly well with me

He is pretty obviously behind Sanchez and Vertonghen in terms of form and fitness. Might argue he is on par with Foyth right now - given that Foyth had to switch to the less favourable left side against Rochdale.

Thats kind of what it has felt like since Toby came back to full training. But, his performance at Rochdale showed he is still a fair bit away from re-claiming his spot. I don't know if thats laziness, or injury though.

I think we all hope he gets back to pre-injury form, but Poch has shown in the past, that when a player will not commit, he is not afraid to simply move on. I doubt a lack of playing time will be a factor in whether Martinez selects Toby for Russia.

A good WCup and we add a further 20-30 mill his valuation. Would suck to lose him but we need to capitalize on him now if he won't sign.

yeah but if he's been frozen out he'd have not played regular football for what, 8 months or so?

He's pretty much a dead cert to partner Jan in the WC unless he gets injured again.

If we sell him it would we would probably either

A) Don’t buy another CB, invest in other positions. Use Dier as a CB, Foyth will take the next step up and either CCV or Tanganga will have the same role as Foyth have this season

B) Buy a good CB that do the job straight away. Loan out CCV/Tanganga. Keep playing Dier in midfield and use him as a CB when we have to
