Always bloody annoyed me with their talk of coloured boots, fantasy football and bags of popcorn. Ok, that was just two kids I sat in front of for a few seasons.

Baring in mind I was 9 when I first stood on the terraces at the Lane (black boots/fantasy football was Hoddle/peanut sellers) and I was completely hooked from the start, what age should you introduce kids to live games?

Should you start at the bottom? A non-League game? Or start at the top as we have the option, Wembley?

My eldest is 3. Still too young as far as I’m concerned. Probably ask to go home after 10 minutes. But I’d love to see her there. And when I explained what happened to the Lane she said it’s ok and her and her little sister will go with me to the new ground. The seed is planted but how long do I wait?

Both went to the Lane while in the womb so that box is ticked

I took my boy when he was 4 to a Europa game. He loved it but being a night game was shattered around the hour mark but made it to 80 mins and we left so it wasn’t as busy leaving.

Took my eldest to Burnley away when he was 6. He enjoyed it, just told him to cover his ears when there was swearing. had them covered for pretty much the whole game :)

i took my boy to Wembley for the friendly against Barca he loved it. didn't take him to WHL for a couple of years after that though. bit too intense and they only have the attention span of a Gnat at that age so you end up walking the concourse after 25 minutes

He's 10 now and still loses attention. But now I just send him off to get snacks.

I think 7 years old seems a reasonable age. Should hopefully have the attention span by then, the ability to stay awake, and, it allows us to brainwash them into supporting Spurs before they get to big school and the glory hunters can affect their choice of team to support.

took my boy when he was 4 and he had got bored and had enough by half time. It wasn't until he was about 8 that he could sit through an entire game so i reckon that would have probably been about the right age for him

Yeah, you have to win the battle before somebody else does. My niece came home from school one day and told her Dad she was a Chelsea fan. He told her she wasn’t. Turned out she wasn’t. Victory for Dad. But my mate’s son comes home and tells his Chelsea fan Dad that’s he’s a Spurs fan. Turns out he is and gets heavily encouraged by Dad’s mate. I win.

I've taken my 4 year old to his first 2 games this season , my 9 year old has been going regularly for 3 seasons. I have two older sons who go to every game (home). Start them young I think.

I was four the first time I went to a football match and five the first time I saw Spurs. Started going regularly to games in Norway from about seven.

I could actually pay attention to games for 2 x 45 mins but of course, every kid is different and had I had a shorter attention span my dad probably wouldn't have taken me so early.

I took mine when he was seven (as you can see in my avatar) and he had no interest in football, but I had to get him to the old WHL before it came down. He has a little more interest now but still little compared to me at that age, by which time I must have been over 30 times, fed on the team of Hoddle, Ardiles et al.

Funny but it brings me to a thought I had last night.

Imagine being a Gooner (shudder) and taking your kid to their first game last night, comforted by the fact you are playing nobodies and your child will see your team win comfortably and forever be a Gooner (shudder) , and making them watch that load of donkey turd.

They are gonna be devastated when their kids ask for Kane shirts for their birthday.
